Have you heard/seen him sing “How Great Thou Art.” Phenomenal. Best performance by him I’ve ever seen. So far. He even has a subtle Elvis thing going on. It’s not an impression or anything like that. There seems to be something similar in their voices, their resonance, perhaps? Elvis had an operation sound when he sang certain slower songs. So check it out if you haven’t already.

He WAS in obscurity, but he was also 17. Charlotte gave him the strength to do the audition, but his gift would have been discovered at some point. He would not have stayed hidden, but credit to Charlotte for introducing us earlier.
@maryjohnson4132 жыл бұрын
@@ruthbrower8152 Jonathan himself has said that when he agreed to do the audition with Charlotte, he was in a very low place in his life, not seeing what his forward path could be - even though he had already had many accolades including at the Stratford and East London Music Festival's "Young Musician of The Year" the title of which he won in 2010. He was offered places at four junior departments of the London Conservatoires and accepted a place at the Junior Royal Academy of Music. He was not hidden, but he was struggling with his mental health, about which he has been quite open. As you said, full credit to Charlotte for reaching out to him and convincing him to go on BGT with her. If you watch the audition video (the most watched audition on KZbin) you can almost see his transformation begin. It's possible that Charlotte actually is the reason we have him to love and listen to today.

Yeah, I can sing from the heart as well with a beautiful voice. Learning the words and timing is more important than most people get credit for. He was given tools and what he needs to make it count. I am glad too that he is also singing songs people will hear. He is doing that for the bank. The art songs of opera won't ever make him rich.

I disagree. She was a wonderful friend who helped him along the way as many others did. Do you know who the real hero was? Jonathan. By having the courage to face his demons, work hard and create the incredible life he lives today is what I find heroic.
@ihabiano4 жыл бұрын
@@calibean7736 I have to disagree we should be accurate. She was the one moving him forward, and she was the one behind him being there. Without her he wouldn't have seen the future we are happy to see now; Charlotte therefore was the hero. Now Jonathan did work hard, and he is more of an epic, but he is not exactly heroic. To be a hero is to contribute to others, not to self - I know it's subjective but going by definitions, Charlotte was the hero. Needless to say, we are both here because we highly respect and love them both :)
@calibean77364 жыл бұрын
@@ihabiano Oh but he has contributed a great deal!😊 He's done so much for thousands in delivering his message of love and hope through music. He had many friends who helped him along the way. Charlotte, as lovely as she is, was just the one we loved hearing about. It was a beautiful friendship. I also find it sad that people don't appreciate the wonderful work she has done in her own career. Why do people assume she is unhappy? She has never appeared bitter or say she felt betrayed in any way by Jonathan. I think the media has put this out there to simply "sell a story" . I'm afraid we'll have to agree to disagree. I think they are both perfectly happy and only owe each other well wishes and friendship.
