This is the Kind of drummer you want in your band. Every single beat he plays is meant to elevate the song, to make Michael voice bright, to add to the feeling and the intention of the song. You can practice 10 hours a day, but you’ll only reach this level when you grow up as a drummer and as a musician. He could have put so many amazing fills in the song, but he has the good sense not to.

My son started drumming this year. He's got "it". You were on the list of drummers I gave him to study! Your speed during your cymbal shots for alot of Michael's songs threw him for a serious loop! He was like, "How is this possible? How does he hit those shots so fast and settle back into the groove like his cymbals are right next to the snare?!?! He managed to play green day's "basketcase" with full strokes like a champ but still couldn't match your arm speed on the shots on some of Michael's tracks that weren't near as fast! When he realized that you were still that fast after all these years, it really motivated him to push harder! Thank you for all the great music over the years!
