There are many shades of yellow - not just bright canary yellow. Yellow hides a multitude of body sins and weirdnesses. I like Chrome Yellow if I was to chose one. That was the color of the old-time Cyclone board-track racing motorcycles. www.jstokstad.com/Legends/Motorcycle.com/Photo_Gallery/Full_Size_Files/OD9P0649.JPG I also like the glorious blue color that the YALE board-track racing motorcycle was painted. 1.bp.blogspot.com/-zqllFhRqhRo/TgvYlHT3jNI/AAAAAAAACvE/3wkHD9j9pAA/s1600/Yale%2BBTR2.JPG Blue was a popular hotrod color in the 50's. Tiffany Blue is also beautiful. cdn.pursuitist.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/245280.jpg Italian cars of the late 1930s also used light blues such as this Alfa Romeo i.ytimg.com/vi/NsPnYk5EyuA/maxresdefault.jpg What a car to have back then compared to the American offerings. Personally - I think Jonathans hotrod roadster pickup truck would look good light blue, with a blue engine, wide whitewall tires on model A wire wheels and a dark blue or brown-tan interior. NO WOOD GRAIN. It's his build - and he can paint it any color he decides - we viewers have no say on the matter.

This brings back memories of building an A roadster pickup in the 1990s here in Australia, built from the remains of a tourer and I used the tourer back for the rear of cab. Power was 8ba flathead and c4 through a Volvo diff. Car was put together in 7 weeks and a small budget and was fun! Sadly I had to part with it due to my son getting very sick and requiring expensive medical care but I enjoyed it while I had it! We still have him and he’s building his own A now👍🏻👍🏻

When some one is tossing our scrap metal I get it and cut it to the sizes I need. Like one of the folks below said I remember you said you didn’t like the fit of the other roadster. I was helping paint a bed room today when I notice the shape of my roller tray was shaped like of the recessed well in the floor some cars use to add headroom without raising the roof. It lowers your butt a few inches. Side pipes will hide any external signs of the mod. Although I’m sure you have considered this type solution already, I just thought I’d run it by you. It just may help you get the fit you wanted, to sit a little lower in the car without changing it’s outside fit.

I think I would keep the front door posts & make roll up windows like a model A cabriolet with like a lift off top out of cloth or fiberglass since you are making solid windshield posts like a closed car anyway. Just a thought.

Stupid question: Have you checked to see if there is enough room for a steering wheel, transmission tunnel, and seat? I wonder if you will be riding on this truck or in it? I know you didn't like the other roadster because it was too small in the cockpit. I fear this one may have the same problem, especially with the straight 8 making a long front end. You will figure it out, I don't doubt you, just wondered...
@mrnobody65734 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing before he even cut the first panel. You have to build a car so you can fit in it & drive it comfortably. When I built my chopped & channeled T coupe I got the seats I was going to use & sat in it for fit before cutting so I wouldn`t make it too small to fit in.

Yep they can get a bit cozy if you are tall.. my sons A is on a 120mm longer chassis ( in front of the cowl) so we didn’t have to recess the firewall .. he is over 6 foot and position of steering column and pedals has been done so his big feet can fit.too

Now if he lacked room in the other factory sized roadster, don't we think he has considered that when he built the extensions behind the doors. And as far as the width of the cab, the cowl width dictates that to a certain extent.
