@@vxdxsnow1450 I'm saying this as someone who used to be a die hard DF fanboy, even saw them multiple times in concert, and I still like them a lot too (just, over time the fanboyism has died down)...hard, HARD pass on their version of this song. They absolutely destroyed the emotional gravitas and made it into a lighthearted powermetal romp, really with a single choice: the double timing of it. I did try playing it at half speed and pitch shifting and whatnot not withstanding, it was actually really good..although I'd say Jonathan still hit it out of the park with his vocals compared to DF.

I love David Michael Frank's cover of this so I thought this would be similar but they are so different, David's is like a "pop goes metal" cover and this is like the warrior in Middle Earth at the end of many traumatic events throughout his journey accepting his past experiences and losses for what they are. Love both covers, rock on dude!

It's such a powerful song even before you add everything. Thanks for making it even more epic. It just makes me think more and more of my pointless life and my family. I love them so much I'm crying.

3:23 Dude, holy ****!!! I cranked this whole song so loud. I was in my bathroom thinking, "I wonder if someone ever did a metal cover of this song" and searched it. And here you are, one of my favorite KZbinrs, and you've already done it. Sorry I'm late. That soft outro is really, really cool too. Incredible.

Every night in my dreams I see you, I feel you That is how I know you go on Far across the distance And spaces between us You have come to show you go on Near, far, wherever you are I believe that the heart does go on Once more, you open the door And you're here in my heart And my heart will go on and on Love can touch us one time And last for a lifetime And never let go 'til we're gone Love was when I loved you One true time I'd hold to In my life, we'll always go on Near, far, wherever you are I believe that the heart does go on (why does the heart go on?) Once more, you open the door And you're here in my heart And my heart will go on and on You're here, there's nothing I fear And I know that my heart will go on We'll stay forever this way You are safe in my heart and My heart will go on and on

The love of my life, my late wife Lynn saved my life with her love when I was a teenager, and although I used to scoff at this song, the way Jonathan sings it rings 100% true to me now. At 68, even though she left this Earth in 1987, her pure true love still gives me the strength to go on and to spread the love we shared to everyone I meet who can understand that Love is the most powerful force in the universes. Since I discovered what my Ukrainian heritage means, I now know Your Viking Kevin will see you again on the date we all promised at our wedding to meet again on June 1, 2075 at the star I had named after you, my eternal love.
