Something VERY odd going on with nose-wheel steering - which is very odd, because the real aircraft doesn't have nosewheel steering at all (the nosewheel castors - you control direction with differential braking).

I bet thats because not everyone has pedals?

THANK YOU! I had the exact same odd nosewheel behavior on landing as well. I thought it was me ... Asoboooo, you've got some splainin' to do! Don't think they'll do a hot fix for such a minor bug, but the next update needs to address it.

Nice second landing. You're right as it falls out of the sky when throttle cut. You missed a weight and fuel screen after the engine screen. Keep an eye on the Fflow GPH green marker. Use your mixture to keep the pointer centered. You then have correct mixture. The elevator trim below left yoke is set at takeoff but never moves despite adjustments in trim. I hope they fix that. The customized G1000 is very nice and informative. It let me know my takeoff flaps were not set, warns of tailwind when landing with wind behind you and alerts explain problems very nicely.

Another GREAT flight Jonathan. The Northern California swing continues. My daughter and I used to ride our horses in between Willits and Ft Bragg. Good to see all the redwoods again. Thanks! !! !!! And I will give the flight in the plane later today. Brings back many memories.

I’m using MSFS through Xbox. No issues with taxiing. Small housekeeping advice - anytime you decide to hand fly, and you’re not going to keep up with vertical and lateral FD modes, turn the FD off, usually at the same time as turning the AP off. It keeps you screens less confusing. Overall, a pretty nice update from ASOBO. By the way, you commented that it would be nice if ASOBO included the small details like rotation and climb speeds. They did - it is located on the very comprehensive electronic checklist including power settings, cruise climb, etc. I couldn’t get the anti icing to work, so either I didn’t fill it, or it’s still offline. I flew it into considerable icing and its performance didn’t really suffer like it should.
@chrisrose15086 ай бұрын
At startup after both bat switches are on, you open the mixture and open the throttle. Then hold down the PRIME switch until you see about 4.5GPH or about 2 seconds. Then switch to boost position, the pull throttle back to about 1/4" and then turn the key.

I'm glad to see the keyboard on the centre console is working and can be used for flightplan imputs, hopefully the likes of the Cockspur Mustangg will get that working. I wonder if the increased functionality of the G1000 we're seeing here will form the basis of a future AAU update for all G1000 equipped aircraft?

I just flew this aircraft for the first time. The throttle is very sensitive, but the ground steering was not to bad for me. I am using a Thrustmaster 6000. I have rudder pedals but I don't use them.
@AirmenIan11 ай бұрын
1:57 The purpose of moving the throttle is to allow more fuel to flow into the engine. This plane is fuel injected so having the throttle and mixture full forward will allow a larger quantity of fuel to enter the engine.

Yes i have noticed this aswell, even a few months ago i was flying the pa28 in the sim and it yanks to the left on takeoff, so much so its off the runway in seconds. As a student pilot who fly's the pa28 in real life taking off and landing (assuming conditions are fairly normal) only requires a very small amount of correction with rudder. In the sim im having to push it fully to the right just so I don't veer off the runway😂. I hope its fixed!

I’ve been flying the SR22 on XboxX and yes the rubber is very sensitive on the ground using the V1FY so I’ve turned the rudder sensitivity down and the SR22 lands ok. I have no rudder pedals so I use the triggers for steering and the bumpers for braking and land ok with not many issues. 😜👍

That's interesting. I saw the same thing happen with another creator in another aircraft. The person involved in the development side of the aircraft happened to be sitting in and tried to explain it as being due "ground physics model vs. air physics model" meaning that at low speed the ground model is active and at high speed the air model is active. Seems to me that it could just as easily be a bug as well though.

This is definitely a needed improvement. This is great aircraft for GA pilotedge atc, because it is faster than 172sp and PE certs are mainly for GA aircraft. Highlights: There is a great 2 panel for Air Manager users. I rarely use mouse or keyboard. Flies better than previous. Waaay too much rudder authority on ground. I use TM TPR pedals. A G1000 with keypad!!! You will find it hard to go back to "twisting" thru alphabet. Works great in AM touchscreen panel with knobster. Issues: The trim location can't be seen from cockpit. If you use air manager then use generic instrument 172 trim wheel on a touchscreen as a hack. This gives trim location for Takeoff etc. Or use external view with hud. (Hastle). The thrust levers at altitude don't seem to have proper sound. They just remain at high rpm sound even when levers to idle etc. Really bad in Drone view. I will get Boris sound and report back. Update...I just purchased for $12. No change. Waste of money. No change in sound with power settings is a deal breaker for me. I have flown sr22 hotstart in xp for years. The castor wheel type steering is rather strange compared to xp sr22. Probably not implemented properly in msfs. Not even close to "study" level Hotstart in XP, altho g1000 nxi is better. This is a popular must have aircraft for irl pilots and those in training. Not affiliated. This feels like Version 1, or maybe less. Too bad. The flight model makes this aircraft really squirrely. No inertia. Too responsive.

Thanks for saving a lot of people a lot of time figuring all this out. So many different avionics--too bad there's not more commonality! Too bad MSFS doesn't allow air-filing IFR flr plns (2024?) but if you're going VFR, you need to be at odd 1,000s +500, so 5,500 in this case. The SR22 is very well done--it's impressive how good some of the Asobo a/c are--about "as real as it gets" (remember when MS used that tagline?)--pretty immersive for a desktop sim (especially with the Eye Tracker). Yeah--the one thing that bugs me about the SR20/22 is the castering nosewheel--I hate those IRL and in FS. Rudder pedals help, but it can still be tricky! You can change it to a steerable nosewheel--I forgot where I found out how but it was easy to do and doesn't fundamentally change things if you still use differential braking.

@@jonbeckett Thanks for quality vdeos! If you use Air Manager, there is a very good panel for SR22T and then use a generic trim instrument. This gives one a visual on trim location, rather than use exterior cam and hud. Using drone cam, activate controls, you can see nose wheel does not turn with differential braking, as it should.
