Own a 4runner, live in the northeast. In top console next to the interior lights, press and hold the traction control button to get a little more when stuck. Learn those 3 buttons (4 if you have rear diff locker) and know when and how to use them. The 4runner is unstoppable!

Hey Jon, just a tip for getting unstuck from the snow. Take your rubber floor mats and stick them into the lowest part of the tire gap you can get into (front or back depending on which is lower. Then you want to drive in your lowest gear and ease into the mat (driving in the direction you have your mats). The mats will add just enough traction to get out of the hole. Pulling a trailer will actually help. The extra weight will create more of a grip on the rubber. I had to do this many times when I was working as a crime scene cleaner.
