I caught many big northern pike on baby duck lures going back almost 40 years. I also saw a big northern pike get three genuine baby ducks on their very first swim across a little cove where I caught northern pike up to 23 pounds. I also cleaned a 6lb largemouth that had three baby northern pike in its stomach. So... If a northern can eat baby ducks and a largemouth can eat northerns? I don't see why largemouth can't skip the middleman and eat the baby ducks.

Jon, I've caught bass of all sizes on lures and plastics that were funky to say the least. Pink and pearl worms, to spinner baits from hell. I caught some of the biggest bass of my life on an early version of soft plastics called a Hawg Hunter which I still have after 40 years, was a 12 inch by 3/4 inch by 1/2 inch tandem wire weedless hook Goliath! Nobody ever thought that thing would ever catch fish but I've caught dozens of 3 to 5 pounders on it. So the duck would definitely catch some Goliath bass given the right circumstances. The turtle you used is a bass catcher for sure, got plenty of those. So you keep on killing them with those weird lures and kept on fishing, never stop!
