Due to chef bon yard's reply, I was actually not sure how many tracks Saba had created, so I wanted to figure out. To be accurate, the counts of who was producing on each album, EP or mixtape listed on Genius (with producing credits available) are as follows: ⠀ - on Care For Me (2018): daedaePIVOT (10), Daoud (10), Saba (6) [Saba produces on 6/10, or 60% of tracks] - on Bucket List Project (2016): Saba (7), Phoelix (6), daedaePIVOT (3), Cam O'bi (2), Joseph Chilliams (1), Ken Ross (1), squeakPIVOT (1), Flex Lennon (1), Cory Grindberg (1), Monte Booker (1) [Saba produces on 7/13, or 53.8% of tracks] - on COMFORTZone (2014): Saba (10), Ken Ross (2), Cam O'bi (2), Ben Free (1), Nascent (1), Boodah Shampoo (1), Joseph Chilliams (1), Anthony Pavel (1), NAiMA (1) [Saba produces on 10/14, or 71.4% of tracks] - on GETCOMFORTable (2012): Saba (6), Such N Such (2), Sev Seveer (2), Strawberry Jam (1), Thelonious Martin (1), iKON (1), Chris Calor (1), Spacecamp (1) [Saba produces on 6/14, or 42.9% of tracks] - the Ozymandias EP didn't have enough producing credits for me to collect data ⠀ So at least on major albums on Genius.com, by my count, Saba produces 29/51, or 56.9% of the material he is a main artist (not a feature) on. ⠀ So by my analysis, James Grove is correct - he produces mostly everything he makes (if we define "most" as more than 50%), according to the Genius.com data I collected.

This album is such a masterpiece, especially when you revisit, you start to see that it isn't just the last two songs that are an ode to John Walt. The entire thing is riddled with the story of John Walt and the reality of most kids growing up in the environment of Chicago and how frustrating yet beautiful it can be. Brilliant story telling from start to finish not to mention how phenomenal this album sounds musically. My top album of 2018 and I am confident that this will go down as one of my personal favorite albums of all time.

My favorite pet of prom/king is towards the end. Everything is coming together musically but in real life his cousin ends up dying before it all happens because that when he raps more aggressive and the beat gets more chaotic which I think is representative of what he was going through in his personal life. I just love how he expressed that chaos in his life through his rap and the production
@jacobboyle26794 жыл бұрын
I really appreciate your videos because you have a different approach than other review/reaction channels; there's no judgement, you're not looking to criticize necessarily even though you talk about what you like and dislike about the music. But you focus more on how the music makes you feel and analyze what the artist is trying to do, and it's a refreshing change from other reviewers who are trying so hard to be critics (although there is a place for that as well).
