Young man I really enjoyed your review of your weapon. As an old M14 guy, I can tell you, you have a good grasp of this weapons system. I own a BULA DEFENSE M21 and I think you will be amazed. I also have a custom built M21 on a Winchester milled receiver with a Hart barrel and it truly is a .75" moa platform with my hand loads. I run 173 gr through it. All total I have 12 of these weapons, half Springfield M1A and the others all milled receiver weapons. I will say my most fun one has got to be one of my SOCOM 16’s. One CQB SOCOM 2 and the other a first gen SOCOM 16. Add a SOCOM 16 to your wish list. I think you would love it! Really enjoyed your review! Keep your old warhorse running and turn some more guys and gals on to M14 platform weapons. Your a good ambassador for it. Oh, I have a SAGE stock, just a little hesitant to stick it on one. You helped me make up my mind.

Significance of the barrel whip screw: For best accuracy you position the screw a hair above the barrel, but not touching the barrel. The screw is designed to act as a bump stop that minimizes barrel whip without adversely affecting accuracy, it is not designed to remain in contact with the barrel. I like your video and the subject matter, I started shooting the EBR 09/2004, I love modern chassis stocks for these rifles.

I've only shot the rifle in the US Navy in the Persian Gulf War we used them on the ship for small boat attack and we kept one on the bridge always. I remember when I qualified I had to shoot 10 rounds in each position and I remember when I shot him probably about 3 seconds per shot I didn't like most people take 15 seconds in between shots and I kept a group we were shooting only on the flight deck the helo pad and I fell in love with that rifle I've done a lot of shooting in my life so shooting that gas action 308 was nice compared to shooting a bolt action 308 or 30-06 amazing rifle! I don't know if I have enough money to get into it and keep it running right but I sure do love them, I think they're the finest rifle ever made minus the cons but the pros badass looking tough and badass looking hard to beat!

Am I missing a couple pieces that are supposed to link the rear set screw of the Sight Base to the top of the gun? Thanks! Rick

Richard Price I think I understand what you’re describing. From what it sounds like, you have everything you need. The rear screw that connects into the stripper clip guide of the rifle is just there for alignment, it doesn’t actually screw into anything.

I'm glad that there's another lefty out there like me. I've wondered how well does this work for a lefty, & my question has been answered. My main question though is, does this chassis system work w/ an M1A in 6.5 Creedmore? From what I understand is is that there's no difference between a gun in .308 & a gun in 6.5 Creedmore, so the specs should all be the same amongst the two, regardless if it's an AR-10 or an M1A but in this instance we're talkin' 'bout an M1A. I do know that the M1A I'm lookin' at is a Springfield Armory but I'm not sure what model it is, but it's equipped w/ a Tan/F.D.E. "tacticool" lookin' stock/chassis, where the pistol grip connects to the stock all "tacticool" like. So yeah, if anyone has any info in regards to my question, I'd greatly appreciate it if that info could be passed on to me. I really would love to have this M1A in 6.5 Creedmore, in a SAGE International E.B.R. chassis system, but I just wanna' make sure the two actually will work together. Thanks!!

Any derivative of the M14 is nothing more than a full power infantry rifle shoved into a DMR role. You like them or you dont. They are badass rifles with a vibe. They are passion project too. the Sage system is the easiest way to mount a scope, and I recommend a sage mount with either a sage chassis or ultimak style upper handguard. If you are brave enough for the Sadlak or ARMS scope mounts. they are awesome, but beware, they are beyond difficult to mount and be perfectly straight.

@jones103956 жыл бұрын
My answer depends on weather or not this is your first rifle. If it were your first rifle, I'd suggest starting with a .22 caliber carbine/rifle and mastering that. It's just a good starting point in my opinion. And the .22LR ammo is super cheap, even match ammo! I have a custom Ruger 10/22 in my small collection, my favorite part about it is the Terminator 2 stock from StockysStocks. Anyways, if this is not your first rifle, go for it. You will need some specific tools to include those noted in this video and a few more. You'll need a Sadlak cylinder plug drill (cleans out the carbon), some plstilube, and some time. Shimming the gas cylinder is one of the more important things when installing an EBR chassis. Personally, I find the rifle to be mechanically interesting, so I enjoy cleaning/maintaining it. Usually I'll put on some background noise and spend some time detailing the thing. So, if it's your first, I would not suggest it. If this is not your first, jump in and spend the time to learn the intricacies of the M14.

Mitchell Watters, I’ve had an M1A for a few years and built it into an EBR about 8 months ago. Not disappointed at all and putting it all together isn’t as daunting as I thought. I want one but from what I've searched online, it's cost prohibitive at ~$3500. Is it possible to build one from the ground up on the cheap? I know that sometimes you can get away with that on the AR platform but I was wondering if it was possible on this platform.
@jones103956 жыл бұрын
Nick Naylor So if you buy a complete EBR, it is very expensive. If you purchase an M1A, the the EBR chassis, and install it yourself, it’s a little bit more economical. I bought my rifle for a good deal at around 1650 and I found the EBR stock for 700. That’s more than one grand less than the deal you’re mentioning. As far as building one that’s economical, I’m not the best person to ask. Usually I wait for a deal then buy. Buy once cry once is my philosophy. But fore more tips on building an economical EBR, head over to the M14Forum and ask the people there, they’re very knowledgeable and I’m sure they can help!
