I have the aviator classic in silver with double coin tray and aviator slide in Pure black with double coin tray and carbon fiber cash clip and i love the slide.

Thanks for the insight Jon. I still prefer my traditional leather which has a small pocket for coins where I add needle, mini-firesteel, ceramic striker, safety pin, paperclip, handcuff key, hair grip etc. I could try the scissors too now I have seen you add yours. I like the different size pockets of my wallet which gives me a little more flexibility over a credit card size only.; and nothing rattles.

I bought the Aviator Slide with the bigger coin tray, the quality is amazing, i only carry few banknotes for emergencies and few coins so it's perfect for me. I also slotted in a Victorinox Swiss card, I don't think i'll need a new wallet for a long time.

Great review. This wallet and the Ekster are other options that I have been eyeing apart from the XSTO. For the drawer compartment I was thinking band-aid's, cotton squares, ointment/alcohol/hydrogen peroxide pads when going out for a brisk hike or a jog.

Hello again Jonathan. Always enjoy your presentations. The organization, elocution and attention to detail are second to none. Great scripting. The technical camera, sound and lighting work are top notch and cause one to wonder if you have a production team or a background in production. And then there's the toys. Where does he find all those wonderful toys? (I've heard that somewhere before...) I like this wallet. I do. I've looked at it before, too. Seems nicer in your world. The one thing that holds me back is the pull strap. Not sure why, but it seems fiddly, inelegant and as a moving part, likely to wear with time. If I did give it a go I'd get the deeper tray, put the tools in and enough cash to keep things from rattling about...at least until it's spent...as suggested by another of your friends. It occurs to me that perhaps the tools could be secured in the shallower tray with blu-tac or artfully trimmed bits of gorilla tape. ATB!

Hi John 😃 Great feedback as always - and thanks for the kind comments. No production team - just me - I enjoy the process though, and I am always learning. I know what you mean about the tab but as you will see from the video it can be easily replaced and does work well. Blu-tac would be a useful addition too stop rattle and add function!

I really like the look of this wallet as well the concept of the the tray, but items rattling would also put me off. The video also reminded me of my Swisscard Classic which I now carry in a slim vertical leather wallet with about 4-5 cards. This also solves the problem of losing scale tools in Alox SAKs, and this setup works well with my Electrician or Pioneer for a very slim functional EDC.

Good evening Sir! Your presentation and script were just flawless. The engineering of the back adjusments is VERY impressive! So simple and effective, that was really great to see. Also, the idea of using tools from Victorinox Card is so good! I see the apeal in the product, but it might not be for me, for two reasons: 1. I don't like the idea of money clips. I don't want to put my cash in display for everyone to see. 2. I had a slim wallet named Djinn by Koala Gear, and it was almost perfect for me, but at the end of the day I didn't like how square and tough this type of wallets is in the pocket. 14:10 is what I'm talking about. Ridge Wallet also has a drawer/caddy that they sell for their wallets, much similar to this one and I tend to use mine to carry a key and a couple select lockpicking jiggle keys.

Hi Jon, Excellent content creation, as usual. When you do your update video on the product after using it for a while please tell the viewers how it preformed if it gets dropped on the ground. I have a PocketPro Wallet that is nice and similar to a Ridge wallet. The rubber band part broke the first time it fell out of my hand while retrieving a credit card at a department store. All my cards went limbs akimbo across the floor. Spare parts came with the wallet and I was able to disassemble and reassemble (fixed) my wallet in about the same time it took you to work on the Aviator wallet. Hopefully it performs better than my wallet and proves to be a quality product. Sincerely, Chris

After seeing your review I looked at the product and it now seems like they also sell velour inlays for the coin tray so you can adjust the depth to suit your items and reduce any unwanted rattle. I am sure a DIY solution like this would also be fairly simple to achieve but it's only £4.

1 piece of advice, please state you got this gear to review from the producer BEFORE the review starts. Many people are put off by basically promoting channels that find everything fantastic, because someone paid them to say that.

I would always call out a sponsored video at the beginning (ie. paid to promote) - for other videos I often purchase personally, or request from suppliers, this I feel is not so much an issue as they are treated the same - but I do always mention if supplied FOC. I get lots of suppliers offering products for review but most of these I turn down because they don't fit the channel of I know they will not be very good. I make it clear to all suppliers that my reviews cannot be influenced by the supplier.

As a further note, I would imagine a couple water purification tablets in their (paper like packaging?), could serve you well in reducing the rattle whilst, providing s means for disinfecting questionable water sources :)

2 questions: 1. How long do these elastic bands last? And could you replace them? 2. How does this carry in a front trouser pocket? Where i ve been carrying my leather wallet for 40 years now. Saw the video, but it's obviously not soft. I would add an anti skimming card, which is basically a metal plate which blocks rfid readers. Lastly, dirt could come in very easy and wear and tear on the bands is a worry for me. And i reckon it is MUCH easier to pick pocket then a fat wallet lol Any ideas? yes - not a cheap option (for the carbon one particularly)! I prefer something softer for front pocket - the drawer is a nice feature - spares are available,

Good question - I don't have a £20 note to hand - max width is 45mm if that helps?

£20 note is 149x80 mm so has to be folded to under 43 mm so in half and half again. The plastic notes are much harder to fold and even harder to unfold when you hand them over than the old style. To retain the dimensions of a credit card (84 x 58 mm) notes have to be folded in three. Wallets that have a tri-fold around a stack of credit cards work very well and are much smaller than the bifold that needs to accommodate 80x85 mm for all note sizes. Update: new polymer £20 is 139x73 mm so will fold in three but old £50 156x85 mm and now new polymer is 146mm x 77mm so needs a space pf 48.7x77 folding in three.

Great review as well. If coins is important this wallet is great. If coins is not important then I strongly recommend the Ridge wallet. Ridge do have a coin tray but it’s not as well integrated as Aviator. Overall (for me anyway) The Ridge wins out.

This video is an excellent review of a not-so-excellent wallet. The AVIATOR Wallet is loose and wobbly despite the proper band tension setting. The outer plates annoyingly move in every opposite direction possible when in the pocket or handling, giving a flimsy insecure feel. The accessory tray is a unique feature but is more hype than practical use, and the cash clip accentuates the loose, wobbly feel. The pull tab plays second fiddle to the thumb slider and is more of an annoyance. The AVIATOR Wallet is good-looking but a disappointment beyond looks. SAVE yourself a couple of hundred dollars and instead buy an AKEENI XSTO with an upgraded Carbon-Fiber Business Card Cover - you won't regret it.

God i hated british money when i was over there... the notes are useless and the coins are many and of many different shapes... i dont carry coins in my wallet i carry them in the coin pocket of my jeans so i was walking around with this bump on my hip... i loved those self checkout machines cause i could take my time to get rid of the coins in there

Shout out for the OHTO Minimo pen and pencil. Barely larger than the refill and still retractable Jotter click action with a choice of refill colours. The Victorinox 91mm pocket knife and Swisscard pen is the same, only in blue ink, with a plastic top to to easier to remove. The D1 refills are metal and with a choice of colours a better option than using the Victorinox one. I have not had any leak and have carried red, green, blue and black.
