CORRECTIONS: 43:20 - Elements cannot be placed on the card that made them, so no cube can go on the activated card here.

This is such a fantastic game. I recently picked it up after waiting for a long time to get it. Thank you so much for the video too. You come across really well, fair play

I could have watched a movie on Netflix, but instead I got sucked in and watched all of this. God damn this hobby! Haha Great play through. Excellent camera work that allows me to view perfectly.

At 1:19:00, I believe the animal movement is mandatory if possible. Otherwise, the card would say "Move up to 1 animal..." as some of the others do. Not that it would matter as far as this game was concerned, but it might be worth a note.

Great playthrough, so few mistakes! This game looks much more interesting than I was expecting.

there were several times that players could have blocked that massive landmass card by putting a land card in the top right and creating a one tile landmass...
@JonGetsGames5 жыл бұрын
That's a great strategic point, I was so focused on how it would be hard to split the landmass up via land change actions that I didn't think to do that. That being said, the Green player was an underdog all game long so targeting them like that wasn't a huge priority I think.

43:18 You can't put the cube on the 2 dessert card since that is the card you are currently activating.

Good catch! I've added a correction, thanks.

I've yet to see a playthrough where the draft variant is highlighted. I'm really, really curious to see this, or if all else fails to try it for myself (game is already pre-ordered). I think it will be our preferred way to play the game when all is said and done ...

This game has a nice theme and it's fun to see the world build out and change... but it also seems like that is the _main_ fun of this game. The actual gameplay is sufficiently luck based that I don't feel the strategy of it. Obviously there _is_ strategy involved, I'm not disputing that, but it is simply overwhelmed by the luck of the draw, at least for my tastes.

Heads up, around the 55 minute mark, your camera rig starts drifting in many of the shots.
@JonGetsGames5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I noticed that while editing. Every time I move the camera I tighten it down and I think I was in a groove of moving and tightening so quickly that I started not tightening it enough and it wandered in the ball mount. Sorry about that.

The white player stole cubes from the green player at least twice near the end of the game, which would explain the big difference between their available cubes.

Ah that's unfortunate. Any chance you remember when those were so I could add notes?

I will say, looking at the final moves, I am a little surprised that you didn't go for the Elephant. Now that I do the math it would have only been one more point, but it still would have cascaded and you would have been clearly second place.

Interesting, I think I was playing fast and loose at that point and did overlook a more intricate and beneficial option there.

I really dislike strategic games where luck plays such a huge part in the game. You would have won had you been able to score your cheetah card again, and quickly ended the round. Because the round length is based purely on luck of the draw it allowed your opponents to score their good cards again. I would be extremely frustrated had this happened to me.

I think that's a fair criticism, this game is certainly not going to work for all gamers.
