Jon in this episode: "I don´t want to gloat". Proceeds to rubbing in his victory several times. 😂😉

Great conversation! Thank you for posting it 👏👏👏. I had the chance to meet Keith Piggot, and what’s really cool is that this game of his is very much a reflection of him-understated, clever, and generous.

Bought this a few days after playing on BGA as well haha! Agree, it has great "turn anticipation". That plus the dice roll risk/mitigation reminds me a bit of Castles of Burgundy. I've played w and w/o the asymmetrical characters. Nice to have but like Jon mentioned, asymmetry can feel like the game is telling me what strategy to take, rather than me making a choice. At first I was weary of the customer cards being random draws, thought a draft row might be better but I do like the surprise factor when you fulfill a customer contract and can take the lead on a track. Thanks for another well done board game analysis!

I want to add to Anastasia's comment of why she felt it was like Concordia but not. I had the same feeling, and I think it's the positive player interaction. When someone moves to a spot, they do it for themselves to get resources and money, but the owners of the buildings get resources too. It's similar to the prefect in Concordia, when you produce everyone in that region gets resources.

The game had quite a lengthy development, which I think shows. Making a generalized statement, a lot of games I feel get pushed out on KS or even at retail and fixed with a second edition or expansion. It's great because it's simple to play, has depth, has a nice mix of positive interaction and interaction on the tracks.

This came out the same week and the same price as Foundations of Metropolis, so i went with Foundations, but i do want to get this added to my collection eventually.

It probably says something about the cultural reach, or lack thereof, of Legend of the Five RIngs that I have seen multiple board game channels talk about this game and most of them don't even seem to have realized, let alone mentioned, that this is set in Rokugan. Not a major thing, just slightly amusing to me. Thanks for your thoughts.
