Joni was so gifted. Insightful, passionate, always having her thoughts on the pulse of life. She was way way ahead of her time. No other can get close to her. Sweet Joni we all love you so very much - thank you for the decades of wonderful music.

I thank my Mom for introducing me to Joni, she is simply an amazing musician, talent beyond words. And can you imagine? No auto-tune, no backup singers, no band even... just her voice and a dulcimer, awesome.

Joni's 1974 live concert in Sacramento was the best concert I've EVER attended - she is amazing - especially live. Robbin Ford agreed when we were talking about that at his concert last year (he toured with Tom Scott during that concert tour).

It's not like she's any more beautiful than anyone else. She just took the time, and somehow built a musical conduit all the way way down down to the core of her beautiful soul and let it pour out and drench someone like me. Every time with her, she goes all the way. I'm a mess all over again.

it's altogether sad that children of the latest generation may go their whole lives and never hear a truly beautiful voice. now days, every 'artist' uses computers to correct their voice. no artist on the top 40 today can hold a candle to this lady.

Oh my gorgeous girl! She just emanates such brilliant talent, confidence, sweetness and authenticity. Her insight and musicality have only deepened with the decades. Joni is a pearl-- a radiant angel. This to me, too, was the greatest generation in art and music in the twentieth century. There are few now who see the light, let alone who can carry the torch. If I didn't have these songs to hold onto, I'd have no faith in humanity or hope for the future whatsoever. Peace.

...and it can be made to sound so many different ways. A few years back while in the mountains, I was lucky enough to hear the World Champion dulcimer player give a free concert. He made that thing ROCK! With his dulcimer & a guitarist/banjo player, he made that instrument sound like an entire bluegrass band. I've been in love with it ever since. It is much more than Mother Mabel (though I love her) sitting and strumming. Love your comment! My best, Moppet

@GroundedSaugage That's great that you enjoy the music of Joni Mitchell at 13 years old! Have you every listened to the music of the late folk singer, Sandy Denny? There's a lot of music of Sandy Denny on KZbin. Sadly she died many years ago now as a result of a fall down a flight of stairs in England. She also was with the famous folk group called, Fairport Convention as well as her own solo work. Glad to hear that someone as young as yourself is also playing lap dulcimer!.
