+TheGreatBonus I'll use metal as a metaphor. Think of Korpiklaani as iron: strong, heavy, useful for both tools and weapons. Also, if you know what you're doing, you can even turn it to steel. In comparison, Jonne's solo stuff is like silver: lighter, prettier and best used as jewellery and other forms of adornment. I'd love to see this live someday, but not in the middle of a Korpiklaani gig. That would be like finding a silver necklace in my toolbox: "How did this end up in here?"

And also the music on this album is not all inspired by Finnish folklore (if at all). One song I heard sounds Arabic and this one has a native American guy chanting and jumping around in the video. I think they wanted to make a "multicultural" album this time around. Nice Arena profile picture by the way ;-)

In case you're a bit puzzled by this juxtaposition of Northern European and Native American imagery the Saami and Suomi people of Finland are not Indo European like the rest of Scandinavia and although their folk traditions include nature beings (commonly called "gods" and given human forms like the deities of other European traditions) they also revere a Great Spirit that lives in all things much like the Kitche Manitou of the Native American traditions or the God of the Hebrews, and as in these traditions the Great Spirit is NOT given a human form or spoken of by its true name. Jesus said "I and the Father are One" and the same is true of all of us.
