slightly overdriven is like my favourite bass tone

Love your tone videos man. Keep making em! Keep showing us how to get these tones!

Lovely VOLA bass. I prefer a thick, clean sound, personally. But nice tone you have. That VOLA bass 🔊 in active 🔥 mode is fire 🔥.

You are looking very preppy…like a PhD student in philosophy…😂. Love the review too.

My bass tone always has a *touch* of grit added to it, even on a totally clean track sometimes. Unless I'm playing muse or motorhead I don't use all that much gain
@TC1982-46 ай бұрын
I think the clean tone was better. It sounds really good. Has lots of drive and that right amount of grit.

I needed this. Thank you. Don’t have your pedals, but I’m sure it will work with mine (amped scrDI and bass soul food). Love this channel!!!

I must admit. I've used the Tech 21 for years. Just a little touch of grit goes a long way for me.

Sounds great but if you have the SansAmp first won't that make the DI redundant if you wanted to use it to straight to FoH? No hate, genuine question
@JonnyDibble6 ай бұрын
That’s right! You just wouldn’t get the DOD after it. Could do them the other way round, but depends how you run your signal chain. I never take a DI mid signal though. I take a DI from the bass head. If I’m using distortion, I like to have a cab sim on the DI so it’s less farty 😊

Sound like my XXL bass drive Sansamp
@t.c.v.t.4 ай бұрын
When I would use the rpm rack I would blend in the drive about 3/4. It was just a little amount layed as if I was mixing a bass track in a daw.

So is the order 21 into DOD or the other way around because the way it’s shown is DOD into 21
@JonnyDibble6 ай бұрын
Left to right, Sansamp into DOD ☺️
@Terrible_Peril6 ай бұрын
@@JonnyDibble I would run it the other way, personally. That would follow the general consensus on guitar signal gain staging, running the least gainy stuff closest to the amp (the sansamp) and dirtier stuff closer to the instrument. That way your grit tone is smoothed out slightly by the default "amp tone".

Distorted bass is always blah to my ears. It was perfect before the DOD got added

Its only nice in a mix where is just so subtle most people wouldnt be able to tell.
