I've seen a lot of comments ask it it was Jonny's intention to truly ruin the song, how is it not intentional if it's in time, etc. The story goes that Jonny disliked how quiet the verses were, so in order to "spoil" them, he played 3 very loud bursts of guitar noise, which ironically makes the song into what it is today. I'm quoting the Chicago Sun-Times from June 7 1993, as found on the Citizen Insane Radiohead fan website: "Greenwood says Radiohead 'just knew "Creep" was going to be successful.' He should know, after giving "Creep" its sharp little teeth in the form of some out-of-the-blue loud guitar bursts. 'I didn't like it. It stayed quiet,' says Greenwood, referring to his initial opinion of the song. 'So I hit the guitar hard - really hard.'"

I’d say it was less he was trying to “ruin” the song, as he just felt that it was too quiet, and had an idea that would make it really hit the spot. That’s not ruining a song, that’s being part of the creative process, and adding to it to make what you have better. Which is what any real band would do. They are constantly bouncing ideas out and around, and trying things, and seeing what their band mates think of it. That’s how memorable hits are made.
