Take note that Lang wrote the song at 15, you're watching him in this video at 16, & he was on his first world tour at 17. This LA native's seen many "legends", this guy's the real deal -

Nope, he didn't write the song. Look it up.

@@raiderfandew Surprised by comment, from everything I've read. Did look it up. Song was a collaboration between Lang and Bruce McCabe. So, while not the sole author, still pretty impressive for a fifteen-year-old.

Jonny Lang cut his debut album in Memphis when he was just 15, and, upon its release in 1996, the guitar prodigy from Minneapolis instantly became one of the leading lights of modern blues. He's a fast and flashy player whose approach rests equally on technical assurance and musical intelligence. Sizing up a dozen songs, he gets a pleasing, razor-sharp sound out of his ax while building excitement in his lead lines

I managed "Griggs Landing", a bar in Grand Forks, North Dakota. I first heard him when he played in the band called "Kid Johnny Lang and the Big Bang" (you can google that name and hear some of his first recordings). He started playing my bar at least 4 times a year starting when he was 12 years old. We worked with the local police department to be able to have alcohol free concerts on Sunday afternoons so kids could come with their parents and hear him. He played there until he was 16 and left The Big Bang to start playing in mpls.

I remember seeing him on one of the late night shows many years ago. He said he wasn't old enough to be in most of the clubs he played at...lol.

He is one of the most underrated blues artists. I discovered him and this song about 6 years ago and couldn't believe the talent behind this 17 year old. Timeless! His passion is as strong as his vocals, and I've made him a staple in my Playlist. I hope to see him live one day. 🙏 ❤❤❤ 🙏

Have you heard of Kenny Wayne Shepherd ? Another great guitarist, his debut album he released at age 19 was excellent. Ledbetter Heights is the title
@laurieelle22195 ай бұрын
@spongebobsquaretits I have heard of him actually. However, another underrated artist where I'm from. Well, Mr. SBST, I just have to admit I'm living in the wrong state. I hope to do something about that sooner rather than later. 😉 Thank you for the reminder of another gem artist. It's been a minute with my broad taste in music.

He came out of the womb with the blues! I've seen him twice in concert, and he was fantastic. The fact that he's toured with people like B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Aerosmith and the Stones when he was still a teenager tells you everything you need to know about him.
