Awesome. I live really close by and hope to some day be a customer. My East Orange house is 1929 and I've got a bunch of wood details to work on in the future. One thing i want to repair is to replace one stile on a big pocket door. I think it's about 9 feet tall and 5" by 1.5" with a sort of 1/8" veneer on it I think.

For the past 3 weeks I kept saying I was gonna ask if you were ever in Union come by and help a VERY green guy out with any tips or whatever. I figured you’d never be up this way. And here I see you were in Irvington. Arghhhh. I never been to this place but I’m pretty sure I know where it’s at. Probably right off 78 near Lyons ave. Wife and I just moved out of Irvington last year and bought a home in Union.

Honestly, the only way to really know is to find a charred log and run it through a bandsaw. Wood is far more resilient than most people realize.

I have quarter cut hart pine in my living room. It looks pretty nice. My brother and I reclaimed it out of an old house being torn down about 25 years ago. Brought it home, ran it through the planer to get about 60 years worth of paint off. Then ran it through the jointer. It turned out nice.
