My father had that chainsaw. The frame is a propantank, and it was in good condision but had been in hard work back at 1950 and on.I saved it from scrapping and clean up carburator and new fuel and gas hose. After preheat hotbulb it started in two strokes.I give the chain saw to a man who has a museum with old hotbulb mashines.

technically it's ambidextrous due to the wrap-around handle, but favors right handed users, the saw is designed to be started upside down

These saws have to be started upside down then you turn it over to cut. (Starting position/cutting position)

Thats not a diesel chainsaw its a semidiesel. It should be run on normal gas oil mix. It use detonator pipe or what you call it instead of a spark plugs less elektrics to go wrong. It can be run on engine kerosene oil mix in a pinch but not recommended.

Its in starting position. When you start to cut with that you turn the saw over to upside down.
