Filling rotten's shoes is a near impossible ask but Frank has done an amicable job, he puts his heart and soul into it which totally rejuvenates these songs which is how they should be played. I couldn't get a ticket for Bush Hall but i have one for the O2 forum which may be the last time these songs are played live. Bring it on

@grouchoMarx65482 ай бұрын
McLaren killed the band I would say, and his weapon was Sid. Sid had become the archetype of punk for the press, thanks to Malcolm, and you know how the press can be toxic. After Sid died things changed, punk rock was not the same anymore, the state of mind of the early Pistols was gone for ever, that's what I meant when I said the Sex Pistols died on february 2nd 1979. But that was the final day of a slow agony that began in february 1977, when Matlock was sacked. This is just my opinion of course, and that's how I felt it back in the days too.

A lot of people saying on the various videos from this gig that it's not the Sex Pistols without JR, but The Rolling Stones are still The Rolling Stones without Brian Jones or Bill Wyman, AC/DC are still AC/DC without Bon Scott and Status Quo are still Status Quo without practically any of the originals, now. Rotten wasn't the be all and end of of the band, only one quarter of the band. The singer here was great the way he interacted with the crowd and the original members are approaching 70, so will never compare to themselves from in their heyday. For what it was, Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock, along with Frank Carter, deserve to be called the Sex Pistols, just like the Stones, AC/DC and Quo still deserve to be called by their names.
@Muirton662 ай бұрын
Totally agree, they are the three founding members, not for the purist but they are most definitely the Sex Pistols.
