Great video - and I like the use of dried punk wood - not seen that before! Using char cloth / charred material + birds nest is another arrow in the fire quiver

Quit moving the focal point around and it will work much quicker.

Is it possible to start a fire with magnifier glass during winter time?

i don't think so....but we should try it. I tried to make fire last summer (it was on july) and i failed... So in winter, good luck

Yes it is. You need dry tinder and don't try in the snow. Put something lime a big piece of bark or if you have any kind of plate or bowl you can warm with body heat to use as a base. Block wind as much as possible. It is a skill that takes more time to learn than striking a match or using a lighter.

@@sciencediscoverysanimalenc8572 ok but i have 2 questions for u. I already tried those techniques but: 1) did you use a natural tinder found in the nature not something you brought? 2) did u use the magnifying glass of your sak? Thank u

@@nicolasalexandre8159 Yes I use natural tinder but I put it inside a pocket inside my coat to warm it up. I did use the magnifier on my SAK.
