development-wise its the better bali. sasak culture is also quite interesting albeit more conservative. i attended a bride kidnapping ceremony (yes its a tradition lol) near kuta lombok and they were super hospitable. one thing to note, at some beaches you will be stared at if you're a woman in bikini. surprisingly there are no women swimming near the kuta town beach. not so much the case in surfing hubspots. i found rents to be more expensive, but mandalika project looks promising and tons of land is being developed. i just wish that hotel quotas were implemented from day 1, instead of being an afterthought, like in Bali. I would definitely want to visit lombok again, unlike bali.

@@JooseTheNomad I love dogs but Bali dogs and I just weren't vibing 😅 I'm from Europe so I'm very much used to walking around, and I had many instances in which they would start following and brak at me trying to nib my legs, packs becoming aggressive out of nowhere, and while it just bothered me, it really scared my gf. Also, it's funny how people assume is not an issue considering they are rabid, and I found it difficult getting too comfortable considering how moody the dogs were and how many there are. I feel like people have different experiences, but for me it was kind of a big deal.
