I’m Swedish, and every time I see titles using the letter Ö, like Horrorstör, I wonder if the author knows that it’s not a variation of O, but a different letter entirely. It sounds like the i in girl, if spoken with a very posh British accent. Also, stör actually means a few different things in Swedish so that title becomes weird as hell to me :)

YES! My favorite trope! The SIlent Companions had some cool imagery but the haunted aspect was vague for me. I still don't know what happened. Nyctophobia, Thornhill going into the TBR. I like The Grip of It (I sort of dig these naval gazing soups of internal dissociation) but what I didn't like was the ending....I was like...excuse me? I didn't like the Nightmare Room, I thought it was cheesy and that the main female character is sexualized too much. Curious to know what you think! Aw Coates, I hope you like it, it's creepy cozy! 🎃 Okay, No One Gets Out Alive is the opposite of everything creepy cozy, it's pretty rough and intense, made me nauseous at points. They are making a Netflix adaptation which...it's so violent and fucked up, wonder what that will look like. Also they moved it to the US. I like a scary British cockney accent, its so integral to this characters greasy and awful person. Awesome video!

There's a really left-field variant on the haunted house story that I must recommend you check out. Scottish author, now living in Canada, William Meikle's Sigils and Totems series of novellas and stories. Here's what he says about them on his website... "It’s a simple enough concept. There are houses like this all over the world. Most people only know of them from whispered stories over campfires; tall tales told to scare the unwary. But some, those who suffer, some know better. They are drawn to the places where what ails them can be eased. If you have the will, the fortitude, you can peer into another life, where the dead are not gone, where you can see that they thrive and go on, in the dreams that stuff is made of." They're delightfully weird, creepy and different. I love them. Check out the list here. www.williammeikle.com/aboutsigilsandtotems.html
