Do you live somewhere other than the US? I know they’re sold in other countries but not here. It was heavily regulated in the late 70s (similar to opioids now) before being discontinued in 1985. People found substitutes when all this was going down and by the time it was discontinued, people decided it was worth more to import things you could grow versus medicine you had to obtain somehow. Users kind of had to just deal, or pay tons of money. Kind of like people on pain medicine being unable to afford it on the street if their script is cut off, so they find horrible substitutes. But Leo was born in 1974, and Jonah like 9 years later. So unless Leo paid insane amounts of money for a very dangerous high, or used it before he was 12, it isn’t too surprising to me.

@@Cris-em9tn I live in the State's..I had friends that went south of the border to get stuff completely unattainable here..but like I said, I've been 15yrs sober so I have no idea if you can do it that way anymore..my favorite were vials of Nubain, but that answer alone should tell you why I had to sober up..with the right connections and the right amount of money you can dang near do anything..it's a hard thing to find sobriety when no one else around you is, and you can still snap your fingers and get hooked up..and I got sober on my own so as not to "tarnish" the family name..the reason the lude scene was so funny to me is because I've had that situation happen to me, but just on other drugs with the same effect (but aren't available in the US anymore either)..there's nothing like being 100% determined but with your body like jello and your words completely undecipherable..now THAT I can still laugh about 😂

It’s a great film, the story isn’t a traditional coming of age or hero saves the day. But a story about a Sleezy Wall Street guy that made a firm for other degenerates that did exactly what most Americans thinks happens on the degenerate side of stock brokers, but x1,000 for traumatic purpose’s. Plus MS at the helm of the ship makes the camerawork truly one of a kind, Leo was captivating as always and he’s surrounded but a bunch of comedic heavy hitters too. It helps that the pump and dump schemes were a real thing so it’s not completely fictitious.

I worked at Straton Oakmont for a month as a cold caller back in the early 90’s. I was there the day they took Madden Shoes public. That place was a complete madhouse. The movie was pretty spot on from what i experienced. Both of these actors did an amazing job portraying those twisted buffoons

He didnt commit suicide but he did really marry the slutty chick.
