Yup. I went to my caucus. My district was small and diverse so most candidates didn't even make the minimum 'viable candidate' votes so theirs were thrown out and were awarded nothing from their voters. I saw the next district over only have one candidate be viable and get a delegate. So votes matter....depending on location

I voted for Bernie, but I don't think he'll get South Carolina. Every poll I've seen since last Thursday (February 20th) puts Biden in first place by at least 4 to as many as 20 percentage points! I think Biden is going to get South Carolina, and Bernie is going to have to pull in a few delegates in second place there and make up the difference from other states.

I love the daily show but i'm concerned it's being influenced by big media/advertisers. They mentioned Biden, Warren and Tom but Bernie is 2nd... Second! And they didn't show clips with anyone saying they'd vote for him or give him any coverage. Tisk tisk.

Guys come on this vid is meant to be a joke. It's not personal that they didn't mention Bernie, it's just that they couldn't make comedy out of his situation. Biden and Steyer are the only people they mentioned, and Steyer was only mentioned as joke. What you're doing right now is dividing the democratic party and we can't afford to do that. Don't get me wrong, I think Bernie is a great candidate and he's in my top 2 but I think we should avoid trying to divide the base and just #VoteBlue

So, if you're a producer and the comedic value of this sketch is paramount, then you get Bernie in the sketch. Instead, the sketch was edited such that, intentionally or not, it comes across as a commercial for Steyer. Comedically, the funniest parts are the pre-Steyer segments.

Marianne Williamson and Julian Castro are all about reparations, but they aren't in the race anymore. Sanders doesn't specifically support reparations, but his policies would be economically uplifting for disenfranchised communities in other ways.

As a black man, I don't believe in reparations. Not because it's not the right thing to do but because when you look at it realistically, it makes no sense. No one ever talks about who should pay for it. No amount can be decided on. Also, what threshold defines someone as black at that point? Is it only for people with a certain percentage of African American blood? You get into some dicey territory trying to define all the parameters so that no one is left out but also so that random people can't just get it. It's a political fallacy and if you base who you're going to vote on by how they view reparations, you're wasting your time. Anyone can AGREE that we need reparations but no one has a real plan

I hear you. Those are all tough questions. I do wish that federally they could take a little bit of time and resources to convene a group to do more research on those questions, though. It's hard to imagine coming up with any kind of helpful solutions or contributions if no one in the legislature is ever even dedicated to studying the questions and offering an opportunity to talk about findings.

I just wish we could do more trying it instead of deciding beforehand that we can't or shouldn't because we're not sure how to start "right" or we don't know in advance exactly where we might end up.

But I think reparations can also come from reversing or making up for racist policies so that it’s not necessarily cash payment to descendants of slaves but making policies in education, housing, banking, business, land ownership, etc so that the government give more opportunities to the populations that didn’t get as many opportunities in the past. I am not African American but that’s how I have come to think about it.
