@@forgettablelisa thats why you dont let him get there. He's going to get a Geno smith type contract unless GB does something crazy if they make the playoffs. It'll be a big looking number over 3 or 4 years that GB can get out of easily if he falls apart. Assuming they legitimately think he could be the guy there is no way you can let him play into the final year of a contract. You'd rather pony up 30-35 over 4 with a cheap dead cap after 2 than have to talk franchise tag or silly numbers a year later. Jordan Love works best when he's trusted to be aggressive. The man was throwing early and often. It seems to me that MLF has adjusted the gameplans recently to let Jordan's talent flourish; no more dink and dumps and running on virtually every first down.

In the very first play I think the safety is on the wrong side because Love trick's him with his eyes. He looks that way until he moves then quickly turns to the other side and throws the ball. I think that's also the reason why the throw is a little late

I was going to say the lazy footwork is definitely a Rodgers influence. Love has undeniable arm talent (Rodgers-esque) but not quiet the level of Rodgers who had like 1 in a billion ability (both feet off the ground flicking the ball across body for 60 yards). I’m sure it drives Tom Clements crazy to see Love do some of the things Rodgers did back in the day; he has to be careful not to let his confidence in his own arm talent hinder his play.

I think when Love was going through that rough stretch, and folks were already saying he doesn't have it, and even I was thinking maybe they're right, most people had no idea how young GB is. Jordan was a 1st year starter throwing to rooks, and 2nd year players, and it was rough, but I think you're starting to see these youngins gelling, and growing together. I think the young nucleus in GB has a shit ton of talent, and they could be a very dangerous group In the very near future.

@AlphanumericCharacters
@AlphanumericCharacters 10 ай бұрын
@@jefferyzielke7665 that’s an awful take. He does not read defenses well at all. Good fundamentals are consistent. That’s pretty much the definition of good fundamentals. You repeat them play after play. They are second nature. You know…fundamental. He is erratic. How many throws does he make with a defender in his face where he could have stepped up? Many. How many times does he flush instead of step up? Many. How many times does he flush just because of his internal clock when nobody is there? Lots. The biggest issue of them all is his inaccuracy. There have been good QBs who covered up for big fundamental issues with a strong and accurate arm. This dude needs to be like clockwork precision in everything to cover for not being able to hit anyone in stride. That issue is a perfect comparison to Trubisky. Remember the double doink year? Trubisky had MVP talk. Everybody was drinking the kool aid. Then one defensive back called him out publicly for his glaring deficiency. Dude never had any success after that. Kind of funny. You say he has sound fundamentals, has excellent decision making, and reads defenses well. Then why isn’t he playing like Stroud? You just described a guy playing top level ball.

@@AlphanumericCharacters Stroud was a 5 star recruit. If Love is so bad how is he the 10th ranked passer? You're just hating. It's honestly that simple. I also understand football is never perfect and to think a guy can do it the exact same way over and over is just stupid.

I'm a Packers fan but even I admit I was definitely worried earlier this year, more-so because of the talent group outside of Jordan Love. But wow, they have definitely been gelling recently. I don't think people realize how young and cheap this team is. Outside of O-Line and Aaron Jones, they hardly have any money on anyone on Offense. Barely have any players who have more than 1 year of experience too besides the RB's and a couple O-Line. It's insane. They definitely have something special here. Jayden Reed has been an absolute gem.

The entire WR room for the Packers right now costs less than Allen Lazard. I'm pretty sure you can add in the TEs too and still be close. It's even crazier than that though: GB has around $100 mil of the $220 mil salary cap tied up on IR and dead cap. Obviously that's not the best look for the front office, but at the same time it's still impressive that the team is rolling out a generally competent roster on effectively half the salary cap. Most of that overhead should be cleared by next year (the only real question mark is what happens to Bakhtiari's contract).

I really enjoy your analysis. I think every week you have feedback for Jordan to improve his footwork. Usually it's an issue with his hips not being lined up with a throw or him taking an extra step back and not being planted or being late. Given that he has these habits already, how long do you think it would take to improve upon them if they were actively working to improve them? Do you think he's made improvements already this season?

One thing id like to say about Packers fans is that when Brett left in the contentious way he left it was frustrating to us fans the whole "will he retire? Won't he retire? He is retiring. Ope now hes not retiring". A lot of fans took frustration out on Aaron his first year and as a Packers fan myself i thought it was a bad look for us and not fair to Aaron. I am proud to say this time around there has been NONE of that with Jordan. The whole fanbase has been really welcoming and supportive and we're all excited to see what he's made of this year. So the throw that is explored from 6:00 through 8:00 doesn't align with physics. The ball looks like it is riding a laser to its destination. Jordan Love has insane arm talent. There are plenty of HOF QB's that wouldn't be able to do that on their best day. I think Packers have found the 3rd franchise QB in a row. If the Packers keep the proper structure around him, coaching, talent, offensive linemen, etc., then we can trade him to the NY Jets in 14 or 15 years for a couple draft picks that can help our 4th franchise QB in a row win games.
