Sometimes our fathers can’t teach us these things because no one thought them either. If that’s the case, don’t be so harsh on them. Be grateful instead and appreciate everything they have done for us. You however, can break this cycle and teach your kids all these things Dr. Peterson is teaching you. The moment I realized my dad was Human FIRST, it changed everything • We go through life only seeing them as only that...Dad, Mom, Parents that it makes it impossible to connect them with our own experiences...that at one point in their life they too were once 4yrs, 8, 13, 15, 19, 23yrs and you see them experiencing the things you did at these ages...and your heart is humbled towards them. Life is so much better now with my dad because he is Human First•

Jordan, after 32 years and 3 wars with the U.S. Army, and even though I climbed to the highest success possible at my skill set, upon retirement I was lost and suffering quietly. I am a happy, successful guy but something inside me was gone, I had changed and not for the better. Thank you for waking me up and not allowing me to indulge in self pity. I carried my load up that goddamn hill and it didn’t break me, that’s what you taught me. Now, instead of struggling to forget the horrors of combat, I embrace the remarkable beauty that I am still here and have at least 25 years of life left to carry the heaviest load I can. 32 years in the military and now it's over. That's a tough one. I can't imagine how embedded one can be leaving a pretty intense job like the military after a long time. But when one door closes, another one opens. Then you have to say now what and then need to find a new mission or missions. The world is full of problems and is always in need of problem solvers. I see some of my coworkers retiring after decades of work, looks rough for some. I have no desire to retire and sit around. If you want to stay sharp, you have to constantly sharpen the blade. Acquire more tools is also a lot of fun too. Good luck and thank you for your decades of service.

I had a variety of difficulties hit me since I was diagnosed with a degenerative neurological disorder. I've sincerely prayed for guidance and received it. One instruction was to complete the requirements for a German degree. At first it was awful, anxiety provoking and terrifying. I needed an accomodation contract that allowed me extra time for tests and assignments, which I obtained. After a couple years I stopped needing so much accomodation. I'm not the same National Merit scholar that I was before contracting this disease. Back then I took the ACT and got very high scores in both math and verbal skills without any preparation beyond high school classes. I have become much more devoted and disciplined, and throughout my program I've gotten the highest grade in the classes or close to it. That's been interesting to note. My memory isn't as good as I want it to be, but overall I'm so much better. I've crawled out of the cognitive pit I fell into. Learning another language has done so much for me. I am pleased by reading and watching Goethe's Faust Part I and II, understanding it and writing about the elements of 1Enoch in it and how Goethe and Milton obtained that information despite it not being able in its current form in Europe. I've loved learning linguistics. The difficulties with that have been many, but I love it. I'm so grateful for the new view of people and history it affords me. I frequently listen to Dr. Peterson because he motivates me and helps me get back on track when I'm discouraged. Than you Dr. Peterson. Thanks so much.

That would be amazing. Unfortunately, modern academia pretty much hates Jordan Peterson across the board. Of course there are some exceptions, but getting this into the majority of schools would be quite an endeavor. This is not to sound pessimistic, it's totally doable, but it would take a lot of work. I think at least for starters, parents should be the ones turning their kids on to this kind of stuff, and then the long-term goal would be to introduce this to the school system as a whole, perhaps even as curriculum.

Excellent way of view. The true father mentality. My father who is the best man I’ve ever known, grew up in extreme poverty, neglect, and sadness. He decided to be more at a young age and went into the military at 17, during the 60’s. My father told me one day that a sad adolescent life should never define the life that you deserve. That you have to make up your mind and pull yourself up by your bootstraps. He was a stand in father figure for all my brothers friends and my friends who had broken homes. To this day many of those kids still say that my father was instrumental in making them better adults.

Thank you for being open. Your words mirrors almost completely what I heard from an wonderful 74 year old american I met on the spanish camino pilgrimage. After a long life he finally thought he was living his life. I had been been to Jerusalem, Santiago de compostela & Rome - and he lamented having been occupied with what was expected/demanded of him instead of living. I repeatedly told him that it's never too late. When we finally reached Santiago after 830 km's & 30 days - we were both in tears. Life can be a wonderful thing, but we need to choose it and other things may need to he sacrificed. If I can continue to do what he did at 74 - I'll die with a smile on my face. Dreams only die if we let them.

@TomasGabriel832 жыл бұрын
School is not meant or designed for that. Go somewhere else if you want to learn how to be better. It is my opinion that school should be offered at the age of 12/15 years old. And should be optional. First what should be mandatory is this form of education. Coupled with math and reading (by reading, I mean reading like the human mind is designed to input information, not as the school system teaches you how to read). That's it. Nothing else. Only thing that could be done about this situation, is to continue YOUR learning, BUT....put YOUR kids and future generations somewhere else, than traditional school. This, so we don't F**k up the world with utterly useless crap.

The World is perfect as it was intended. We are imperfect. And, the imperfect being we are were entrusted with this great perfect world. We are destroying it. That's the problem. If the majority of people lived the same way that Jordan does, then we would find our purpose on this planet and make the world a better place not only for us, but for the creatures we've been given dominion over. They aren't just our food. They are ours to take care of as well. The plants, the animals, the water, the soil, everything this world is made of is ours to take care of. We don't do that. We don't even take care of eachother. People have lost their direction, they have lost their purpose, we've become greedy and corrupt. Like I said, the world is perfect. We are the imperfect ones. We destroy what we've been given, we destroy eachother, and we destroy ourselves. It's sad.

And for everyone non native london speaker definition of impasse = a situation in which no progress is possible, especially because of disagreement; a deadlock. "the current political impasse"

Watching this video first time after 2,5 years, feels different. JP saved my life in 2021. Wondering, why did I ever stop listening to him? Maybe, the willfully blind self descruction Ive doing again could have been avoided. Im completly baffled. I dont want to stop, listening to his lectures again. Gonna crawl my self out of hell now and give up wishing to be dead. I need this man to remember everything ive learned and not fall of the tracks

I RECOMMEND HEADPHONES!!!!! put this time aside and LISTEN don't just hear this, really listen. I can't believe how much time I've wasted. I wish I found Jordan sooner. If you're a person that really wants to learn the real truth, this is a good channel to start. Mind opening video...

Indeed despite of what we are carrying. Doesn't have to fringe by becoming a CHILDS with sincere conversations with God, to thyself, and to one another availeth much. A CHILDS in front of God who delights having sincere conversations. Before moving forward rest thy FEETS upon this Foundation. 1st. Love God as a CHILDS 2nd. Love thy neighbors as thyself. Love one another beloved! And remember thy FEETS! Remember all of you are worth more than anything nor everything that exists! For all things that exists God made just for thee! Is like knowing our positions in front of God. HEIRS being content is like is not what we possess but is what you can do without! Thy sincere conversations with God. Then can hold still. How else can we know the deepest things about God. Beloved we are more than able indeed. As a CHILDS
