Jamie T. That's kinda a myth. Many of them were farmers, but the warrior raiders became more and more specialized as warriors over time, but even early on, as in beowulf, the chief had his band of warriors. So everyone was farmers, but some actually farmed, and some were more like landed knights, minus armor. 😏

When I was a kid I started working out as a result of being bullied at school. It worked. I didn't get bullied as much. Later when I had male children I encouraged them to workout and told them that I would back them as long as they didn't start the fight. I also told them to strike back immediately when struck so as to teach the other guy that there were consequences for their actions. Being dangerous and controlled is a good thing. Thanks Jordan.

You can just avoid dangerous places. Don’t waste your time dealing with thugs and nasty people. It’s a symptom of being wealthy that you don’t have to be around difficult people and can choose who gets to be around you. You can live in Compton and learn how to fight, or make more money and move to Beverly Hills and work from your house. Who do you think gets treated better? The fighter living in Compton or the wealthy entrepreneur from Beverly Hills?

@Chi Chi - This is a one dimensional reply. You assume that you’ll be in that safe zone permanently, and that you’ll never encounter resistance or conflict outside of the home - during public events, on public transportation, etc etc. Are you looking for a weak beta male provider to mate with? And do you think weak beta males would make it to a place like Beverly Hills with their low competitive natures - in any other means of by inheritance or theft? (or both - in the case of Hunter Biden)
@Nikola-ee9dk
@Nikola-ee9dk 9 ай бұрын
@@christopherarmstrong2710While I agree with you that man should be strong, competitive why not expect the same from woman? After all, weak men look for weak women, because they can dominate them more easily, strong men want an equally strong and competitive woman. The idea that a woman should be an inferior being compared to a man is completely wrong. And it is cultural, in the animal kingdom females are not at all inferior to males in that sense, they fight equally for themselves and in some species the females are even dominant. The only period when the female needs special protection from a male is during pregnancy due to additional vulnerability. Women are on average physically weaker, but that's an average, there are women who are stronger than some men. Does this mean that short, physically weak men can never be as good men as stronger men? Furthermore, there is something called a weaponry, so physical strength is completely irrelevant. If you live in some slum, you better get a gun, and when armed women have no shortage compared to men. Furthermore, physical strength has nothing to do with success in life and position in the hierarchy, if it were, than a grizzly bear would be at the top of the food chain and not human, and the physically strongest people would be at the top of the hierarchy, and as we know that is not the case. Often the strongest are at the bottom of the hierarchy, while at the top are often old, short, skinny and physically weak people. Therefore, women have no justification for being physically less strong. If they are less powerful than men, it is because of their mental and not physical characteristics. A woman who is looking for a "provider" be it beta, alpha or sigma, is a weak woman. As Peterson says, on average, if a trait is more prevalent in one gender, it is only 60%, so the differences are small, and both men and women have so-called "feminine" and "masculine" traits. Just like it's ok for a man to show his feelings, a woman must also be strong like a man. I have respect for alpha and sigma women, and the one looking for a provider is a beta woman, and i respect her as much as i respect a beta male. She is weak and will attract weak men.

NA NA that's what annoys me about these talks. It's about success without depth. It's the way people operate, but it doesn't really speak to the depth of humanity, just the animal nature part. It's kind of sad and it also explains why those who attain "success" in the world end up being superficial, self focused and shallow. There's no real meaning to all their effort and they keep running after success to avoid this destruction of their illusionary idol. People choose to operate at this level, but people are a whole lot deeper if they choose to be.

It makes alot of sense. When you think about the common supporter of a collectivist or otherwise totalitarian ideology, they don't seem like the people who have absolute control over themselves. Same goes for those people who always give you advice on dating when they are doing pretty bad in that area themselves. Also, when you feel the sensation of power over yourself, you feel no need to meddle in other's businesses. When you wake up early and exercise regurarly, you become more of an individualistic and independent person and start caring less for stuff that doesn't concern you personally. Think of Jocko Willink and people like him. They don't want to control others at all. They are confident people and not malevolent by default, unlike those who have twisted powerfantasies.

@@blackdeath4eternity It is more complex than that. The question is why are you verbally expressing it? What is the underlying reason for this need. It is the need to verbally verify it, that is off putting. It is a combination of emotional immaturity, lack of integrity, ego, narcissism and sometimes a good sprinkle of insecurity. A well developed male, emotionally and intellectually does not feel the need to say it. It is something that you are or you are not. I am feminine. Do I go around telling everyone that I am? Why not? Because I exude it, it is who i am. I do not need validation or verification for it. It says a lot about who someone is and at what frequency they operate. Which to any mature woman would seem very childish and unappealing.

One of the jobs I had I was one of the first in it and there was aman working with me as a Tech for a cellphone company. Long story short his line was packed mine wasn't. BUT inste4ad of throwing a huge tantrum I waited silently because I knew personally this particular man was a moron. LOL The people being helped by him went to my line and were ilke O_O HE SUCKED!" I helped them without being bitter. I think a lot of women who crow about breaking thru the barriers rather than just putting your hjead down and doing your jobs are the biggest problem I see from the fem ads out there. Men do not go out there and tell us when they do a job and crow about how awesome they are. So why do they need to do it? If they wanted to truly be equal with men. Women can work and do the things like careers and be single just fine. But those who crow "I'm happier than ever' aren't. If you feel the need to screech it you are actually saying "I'm miserable' I say it with confidence adn not being harsh. I'm not perfect by no means but I just think it' simportant like Jordan said to leran from other people's mistakes. To help us grow. I just wish more of the men and women who are miserable would say it outright and try to find a way to joy. It is all king of bullshit tbh. It is based on the research paper of David Mech who is the one who coined "alpha" and "beta" terms regarding wolfpacks and dogs in 1970s. Further research proved that that entire premise is completely wrong, that there is no such thing as "alpha" wolf, but that wild wolves live in "families" , two parents and their progeny. Researchers mistook young wolves (children of the "alpha") for so called "betas". Wolves do show some kind of social dominance but it is highly situational and differs from family to family. So Jordan is using outdated misconceptions to reinforce his worldview.

Timothy Wenzler not true- babies are learning from birth but are still totally dependent on their caregivers for their survival- I know Peterson said this, not you and I understand the point he was making but as a father he must have noticed great changes in his infants from birth to twelve months- also success is not based entirely on your own efforts- if you start out wealthy or with high intelligence or develop your talents with support from your parents, teachers or employers you are more likely to succeed in life than if you are born into poverty and don’t get the education or support you need to start making your individual efforts count. You may be the boss in your workplace but as a wife or husband you are equal partners and as parents you are obliged to put your children’s welfare first, if you want them to grow up healthy and interdependent with other adults- I think Peterson greatly exaggerates the importance of dominance hierarchies- very few people dominate in all fields and co- operation is as important as competition- we are mammals but we are also human, who, despite being puny in comparison with larger mammals, are more capable of getting together to solve problems, though have perpetrated more crimes of violence and killed more of our fellow beings than any groups of animals throughout history. I worry that young people, particularly men will be uncritical of his views and assume they have to spend all their time, not just working for themselves and their children but trying to reach impossible standards and assuming that dominating a situation or trying to dominate other people is a good or healthy way to live- there doesn’t seem to be much discussion in his classes- he is mostly lecturing his students- but perhaps these are just introductory lectures and he also takes seminars and workshops where students participate and think more critically. He seems to dismiss collective action but people’s psychological make-ups don’t happen in a vacuum- they are very much influenced by their prevailing culture, social position, access to opportunities etc. I hope his students are intelligent and thoughtful people and don’t accept his views in the way they would the information given to them by a tutor who gives factual information- day, in engineering, architecture or medicine. I hope they feel able to challenge his ideologies, as these are largely based on conservative rather than progressive values, although he would deny the political thrust behind his theories- I am sure he is a decent and well- meaning man and know he is no sociologist, but social factors are just as important to success as individual qualities- no-one makes it on their own!

Every group I was in, I ended up in a sort of leading role, though I never quite set out to do so. When I dated guys I always looked for a guy who was “dominant” over me without trying to smother my own dominance. I wanted someone to earn their place beside me. When I found my now husband I knew he was the one on our first date. I said if he wants me he’ll come to church with me, and he not only came to church, he enjoyed it and then surprised me with a kiss before we parted ways. Two and a half years later we married and now we are expecting our first child.

THE world many places can be a very dangerous. I am currently in a Latin American country in a disarmingly beautiful place with a small town that attracts many European and North America tourists who come thinking it is Adventureland in Disneyland. IT LOOKS like a highly controlled safe placid environment. It is not. Most tourists, unless they are ex military, from NY City, or are hunters, have zero situational awareness..they cannot see potential threats right in front of them. They walk around with expensive cell phones very often stolen from them, backpacks easily accessible on the their backs instead of in front of them. They walk through markets with them where indigenous women colorfully attired in hand woven clothing armed with razors and great practised skill at slitting backpacks walk near them. THey sit in restaurants with purses open on the backs of chairs or at windows and wonder how locals reach in stealing hundreds or thousands of Euros from them. They ignore advice to only get cash with their cards inside banks and go to the most convenient cash machine at the park owned by a criminal bank outside the country that continuously empties their debit accounts or maxes out their credit cards..no one suspects til it's too late and nothing is done locally to remove these.They never wonder why locals who,speak good English come up to them and overly friendly.People need situational awareness....it serves a highly useful purpose but snowflakes think that is racists til they are victims, then they scream bloody murder at the tourist police who just laugh at them and do nothing. AM I jaded? No, just experienced.

There certainly are alpha females. My cousin is one. She's extremely attractive so that instantly gets her a lot of the way to what she wants, but on top of that she is very opinionated, dominant in social settings, aggressive in conflict situations, a shrinking violet she ain't. Despite the fact she isn't the nicest or friendliest person, people are drawn to her. She recently kicked her long term bf to the curb simply because he wasn't trying hard enough in life. 3 months later she bagged herself a white collar professional guy with a big salary. She's working class and all her friends and family are the same but she just upgraded her life partner because she could. If that's not alpha female what is.

Sounds like an opportunist. Alpha women don't need to upgrade as they r usually not dependant on a male's financial position in society. I know I don't know the whole story but beta chicks usually need a 'successful' man around. A yr later now I should add an addendum to this, didn’t realize it was going to spinoff a series of conflicting opinions. I was only responding to the person mentioned in the story, this man’s cousin where I disagreed with her being an alpha. She could be a pseudo-alpha? Just because a female is opinionated, aggressive and a white collar status climber does not automatically grant her alpha status imho. Generally speaking, alphas tend to be quiet or reflective, loners and always independent. The way you can spot one is how she treats her family or how she feels about her pack. It seems obvious to me that an alpha needs to lead a pack so that answers the question of them having to choose between family life and work. And if some ladies have no maternal instinct and hate housework? That’s OK too just leave them alone. I only know one alpha who chose career over kids and she does regret it now but that’s not my point. The ones I do know (and myself) r fiercely loyal to their cubs and will often leave a job to stay at home full-time. I see some new wave fems feel it is repressive to stay at home and take care of their family but then again they go to work and bend a knee to their male boss or ‘patriarchal created jobs’ no problem?? No thank you! (I fight to stay home with my kids and I’m a homeschooler too) Another way to tell is how they take care of another person‘s child, she will treat it like her own and not see it as competition like most beta’s will! That’s a sign to run. I don’t mean to use the word beta as a negative thing either, I’ve known quite a few beta females that were comfortable with it and made it work for them. There’s also Omega’s but that’s a different topic

I even regurgitate his teachings to others who I randomly meet(tell them to check out his work) and has helped give me more clarity regarding social science, social hierarchies. I believe getting into martial arts for confidence, fitness and flexibility definitely helps with confidence around other alpha males. It is truely a jungle out there, where it is possible to feel the other males insecurities/aggressions(talking to women in their group etc.), as well as my own insecurities with more precision now. Practicing every day, talking to all sorts of people, including women of interest has exposed a world that was invisible a couple of years ago whilst isolating through alcoholism etc. Getting off mind altering substances must be the first thing to stop, if one wants to experience these observations. Night and day.

I am a very nice sweet woman, but I tell all my family and friends, "don't make the mistake of thinking you can manipulate me in anyway. I am capable of destroying anyone I deem an enemy to my well-being". Some people don't believe it, until they see, and once they do, I'm already done with them. Some say I'm cruel and heartless, I say I have boundaries for my own self-preservation. An alpha female doesn't have drama in her life because she doesn't tolerate it.

I love living from a space of deep connectedness and feminine energy but I got another Me available for anybody who thinks that makes me Prey or fodder for their bullshit and ego. 4:39 I'd like to give a different perspective: Finding what your self is incapable of is just you learning your self. I'd implore to treat your self well, and understand that "general intelligence" (self) is what will lead you to what you truely are. Maybe what would help people learn full of what your self is could lie within comprehending what "time" and "moral" truely are. Here's the more elaberate quote: Ask thy self what it is, and you shall learn.

When I was young, I had a lot friends- but I had no clique of friends and was never anyone’s proclaimed “favorite” or best friend. I really wanted close, best friends but I always seemed to chosen against & I didn’t understand why. It wasn’t until I was in my late 30’s that I realized I: I wasn’t really being chosen against... Actually, it was I that had been making the choice my whole life. That is what an alpha female is.

Bravo- Emotional autonomy and integrity makes you un-inclined to manipulators and groupthink. It allows you to be authentic. I am an intellectual and an introvert. I have people who are close to me but I have discovered that you cannot have people and freedom. I don't need a group or a best friend- I need space.

@@angeldela7633 - That is sort of a mean spirited thing to say without knowing the woman. How do you be a "best" friend? ---That is a grade school concept. According to ancient Greek wisdom: " The best friendships exist for their own sake." Like the good, the true and the beautiful, I don't think being "besties" is an actual thing- certainly not an intellectual thing.

In elementary school we used to fight. A lot. There were many unwritten rules like no scratching or biting, no hitting someone on the ground, don't inflict lasting damage. And Noone held grudges after fights. Eventually you would test your strength on another day. Every guy knew the hierarchy, you only fought with the ones around your position in the hierarchy, those just above you and those below you trying to challenge you. You wouldn't fight anyone who didn't want to or didn't fight back, that was frowned upon. And I never understood why you would pick on someone below you on the hierarchy, you and them both know who's stronger so what's the point? Noone ever got seriously hurt. In hindsight I learnt a lot about honor, sizing up enemies, picking fights and social hierarchies during that time. My parents had me do judo when I was little and I continued to do so well into adulthood. I never got into physical fights after that phase of testing my strength as a kid/young teen. But I am certain I could hold my own if I ever got into one. Nowadays kids fights are broken up immediately and I think that takes away from their ability to resolve conflicts, maneuver hierarchies and assert situations.

Well part of the reason is because we're humans. We have speech for a reason. You should absolutely fight back if someone is attacking you, but testing your mettle and social standing against someone else through physical combat is barbaric. Chimpanzees do that. That's subhuman behavior though. Conflicts are only resolved with physical violence in movies; in real life, they're resolved with words and understanding.

@@howmathematicianscreatemat9226 I think it is a mistake to aspire to the generally accepted markers of success, even if it means lower probability of successful reproduction ;-) The reason I say that is because I see too many 'successful' yet depressed people around. You are probably right about the 'meaningful purpose' (if one is lucky enough to find it).
