In 1991 I was getting an MBA, and the professors told us about Stakeholder economics. I recognized it as the thin point of a wedge that would bring Marxism to our society. Instead of the business owners running a business in order to make a profit for themselves in an ethical fashion, we were supposed to consider the employees, the neighbors, the customers and the rest of the people as "having a stake" in the business. It was a form of ownership. But this "ownership" is illegitimate. It was a way to achieve government ownership of the means of production.

Since it's not their money, and since their stated esg goals do not maximise profits (quite the opposite). And since these goals get forced onto corporate senior management and so strong-armed into corporate policy, isn't this simply fraud? Can BlackRock et al be prosecuted? If so, why hasn't it happened yet?

1. Yes, it's fraud. 2. Yes, it surely can be prosecuted on multiple grounds. Funny enough, it can be prosecuted for actually implementing DEI/ESG, as DEI is nothing but discrimination based on race, sex and sexual orientation, and BlackRock CEO is out there on video admitting to hiring and promoting based on racist and sexist principles. 3. Because the current admin is in bed with them.
