Being a Christian is awesome! I've only been saved a couple years. I never thought I would or could ever believe in Jesus Christ. What I thought Christianity was is so not what it really is. It's literally walking hand in hand with God as he sheds all the junk off your soul from wallowing in the mud your whole life. It's also not for the faint hearted. But God provides every single thing we need. Even the courage and strength.

@@whistlep4494 I don't have the time or motivation to serve you an extensive list that you could find yourself, but i will give some examples. - scientific errors example: Noahs flood story is bs, many science disciplines show this. (most important point, especially under this video) - scripture of a god that openly welcomes the deception of 400 of his prophets (1.Kings 22) isn't trustworthy. - contradictions example: 1 Chronicles 21,1 vs 2. Samuel 24,1 Disclaimer: Given enough desperation, and lack of escalating precision in the texts, every contradiction can be explained away. Example: "I arrived by driving car" vs. "I arrived by walking". There is a contradiction that can easily explained away by combining the two, because no exact times are given for each activity and one arrived can mean the city, while the other arrived means the current location. With religious claims, it is even easier to explain contradictions away, since one can freely assign attributes to elements in the transcendental realm without the possibility to be proven false. But the point is, that sometimes one has to make ridiculous brain gymnastics to explain a contradiction away. - it has been tempered with. example: Both oldest manuscripts don't contain Mark 16:9-20, without them being destroyed (there is an end phrase in each of them).

Asking why scientists believed in god . Is like asking why the people who invented cars didn't rode cars them self. Yes many pioneer of the scientific revolution was believers. Because in that time science was still in it's infancy. Newton or bacon didn't knew anything about evolution did they. Also this is no excuse for all the scientific errors in the bible. 1. the universe was not made in 7 days ( genesis 1:1-31and exodus:20:8-12) 2. Stars can never fall down on earth ( Daniel:8:10, Matthew:24:29, Revelation:6:13) 3. Earth was not made before the universe ( genesis:1:14-19) 4. Earth does not have boundaries or ends ( job:38:13, Psalm :74;17, isiah:5:26) 5. The earth is not flat like clay under a seal (job:11:9,38:5,14) 6. The sun doesn't revolves around the earth ( Psalm:19:4-6) 7. The earth has no corner stones , pillars, foundations or supports ( 1 Sam:2;8, 2 Sam 22:16 , job:9:6, 38:4-6, Psalm:75:3, 82:5, Isaiah:24:18, 48;13, Jeremiah:31:37, Micah:6:2, Zechariah12:1) 8.the sky is not solid ( job:37;18). 9. Rainbows didn't begin in 2369 BCE ( genesis:9:13-17) 10. The first man wasn't made about 6000 years ago from dust ( genesis:1-27,2:7,3:19) 11. The first woman wasn't made from man's ribs ( genesis: 2:18;22) 12. The origin of Humans doesn't predate the vegetation and rain ( genesis:2:5-7) 13. Life evolved through evolution through natural selection god didn't do it ( genesis 1:20-25) 14. Human language didn't originate in the tower of Babel ( genesis:11:5-9 ) 15 . And how can I forgot. The universe is not 6000 years old ( genesis:1:27,2:7,3:19) and ( Luke:3: the genelogy to Adam to Chris) which clearly depicts a universe which is only few thousands of years old . 16. Snow and hail isn't stored ( job:38:22-23) 17. The sea has no permanently fixed boundaries ( job:38:8-11) ( Jeremiah: 5:22) 18. The moon does not have light (Genesis 1-14:19) ( Isaiah:13:10, 30:26: 60:19) 19. Earth and it's geology features are in motion but the bible doesn't seem to know that. ( 1 Chronicles 16:30) ( psalm:65:6 ) 20 . Animals aren't in subjection to humans ( genesis:1:26-27) 21. the flood of Noah never happened and can't happen ( Genesis: 6:9-8:19) . There's so much wrong with this fable that it is a miracle that people believe in it . 22 . There never were any angle human hybrid giants ( Genesis:6:4) . Now I am gonna ask a question that you people love to ask. Where are the fossils 23. There never was any firmament or canopy above the earth ( Genesis: 1:6-8, 8:2 ) 24. Carnivores didn't originated as herbivores ( Genesis: 1:30) We all know I haven't even scratch the surface. There are hundreds more which are major and unaccompanied errors. And there are thousands more which are minar errors but errors never the less. There is no chance that book that is rotten with enormous errors is the inspired word of God.

@@celestialsatheist1535 David accounts for this at the end of this video. If there is a conflict between Nature and the Bible, then our interpretation on one or both must change. For example, many of the passages you quoted are from poetic books (specifically Job, and even the first part of Genesis seems to be a different form of literature, not poetry per say, but likely a poetic introduction to the book). Poetic passages have much more room for interpretation, so Job 38:22-23 (snow and hail) could instead be referring to how God is in control of nature, rather than referring to actual store rooms. Every one of your issues have been addressed with this principle, in either changing the interpretation of Theology or Science.

One thing that bothers me as a Christian is how come, God, did not add to the Bible anything related to modern scientific discoveries. Imagine if we would have a simple verse somewhere in Ecclesiastes or Job that would go like this: "do you know that man too was an animal ancient of times ago" or another verse that would say "from a life on the palm of your hand so small you cannot see, to distant stars so far away you cannot see, all grew from one and the same seed ancient of times ago" These two simple verses would immediately, without any doubt, indicate Big Bang Cosmology and Evolution. Yet we have nothing like that found in the Bible and because of that when scientists began to discover, through science, the reality that the world is billions of years old or that life evolved, the Bible began to be less and less relevant in scientific circles.

Baptize as a baby, went a long to the Church as a young child, grew up with not much and lacking a father added a hole to my heart. In my teens I turned away from the Church, got myself into trouble, lusted after girls, leaving God to his own and finally ending up in jail for a stealing. It seem to me that my life was dark but I could not see any light but I felt a pull.. a pull that when I was teen asked why God didn't love me. 20 years later from my teens days, I meant a woman with a heart of gold and not like any other woman I have even met. I was working but I was angry and always felt alone but she didn't care. I could not understand what she liked about me, I was not in my best head. Yet, she stayed with me and we hung out, went to dinner and just hung out. I again felt this tug on me and my mind and soul told me to walk it the Church of my youth. I was scared but when I heard the scriptures, my heart ached with pain, my mind ran with thought and I felt like the Lord was speaking right to me. My heart beat fast and when I left, I thanked the Lord our God for not leaving me and allowing me to hear his voice. Today, that woman is my wife, we are Catholic and we both went on a Pilgrimage to the Holy Land... When I was there, the Lord kept on speaking to me and today as I write this I hear his voice and I get all the answers. Rick L. as a layman (high school education only) & a Christian, I have pondered the idea of language. Language is at times taken for granted. We speak it (in may different variations), we write it, we think it (even in our dreams). It is coded in our very DNA. Spoken/written comes from man's heart, which can be filled with lies. Mathematical language cannot lie (it's either right or it's incorrect)... from this thought I ponder this question. Is there a deeper philosophical meaning to mathematics, other than just "crunching numbers".

90% of the population do not have the ability to understand anything more than minor events or happenings. This is why those in power,(from the 10%) observed how easy with basic fears they could control the masses, to do what they want. Example, The mask wearing and untested drug recipients.(fear) Followers of islam. (fear) Then lets take a proper look at this creation we call life on earth. If we then ask the question, what type of entity created this planet and life upon it. In my observations I can confirm that this abhorrent, evil, creation can only have been created by either an entity with absolutely no concept of suffering, or an entity that enjoyed seeing the suffering and that is refered to as evil. If someone is seen to be ill treating an animal, they are arrested and penalised. If however you apply the same rules to the suffering that goes on in the natural world, you find a situation where for millenia, people are now praying to the creator of this evil planet as if it is so beautifull. However it is far from that. Then lets look at an alternative. If the entity that created this hell hole did not want us to suffer then it would have been designed with exactly that in mind. If however all these people pray and sing to the creator, why would they want to give people pain killers to reduce their suffering because this goes against the creators design. Sadly most people cannot extend their thought process past the basics, which in the case of the Torah, the Bible and the Quran, are books written by man not some creator and their purpose is to control and guide people to a single superior power. The perfect example is the number of people through indoctrination and fear, follow islam, when I can guarantee 99% of its follwers are either illiterate or have never read it. The same applies to those who go to church, I woul;d have to say 99% of them have never read the bible. Everyone claiming the high moral ground and due to the way jewish and muslim people slaughter their animals, they are at the bottom, however those in the christian ellement in the UK had the foresight to create laws to protect from suffering those animals at slaughter. I think this is enough for today.

LOL....absolutely is the case normally for honest people willing to gain and use their "EARS TO HEAR"...! At 15 I stopped at the threshold of my Faith and the seeming delusion of speculated suppositions "said to be science" but did not line up with Gods Word...! It was in realizing then that where the rubber met the road would be in "origins" = Life was either accidental or Created...! It was then in my Environmental Major study's where my pot belly'd 4 credit hr course Phd Cornell professor got down to it explaining to us his taught and passed on belief in "the origins of life"...! It took him all of 2 minutes to explain that ~ "science figures that chemicals washed together in an ancient sea where the first living cell emerged - then evolution took over" I'd then easily figured for myself later that day by Probability and Statistical Analysis that this was UTTERLY IMPOSSIBLE to any thinking mind and in true fashion equated to what I was taught in medieval times as 'spontaneous generation'...! That being opposed to "Immaculate Conception" could not be both nor a combination and in realizing the utter stupidity in this of so the called "learned men of science meant everything after the impossibilty of 'accidental life' hd to be majorly flawed...! But these were "advanced societal leaders in science" how could it be...! Then it took my personal quest for real answers over time that brought to Light both the Godly truths of real science and the intentional disimformation imbedded into higher learning; esp as with historical & political truths by massive ommissions...! It was "who controlled the kingdoms of this world" and esp the monetary control with its "filthy lucre" being the "Love of money is the root of all Evil" easily buying allegiances where needed to own mankind...! ie = the owned Globalist Bankster cabal or "Unseen Hand" orchestrating it all out of sight and mind of everyday people in everyday life...! "They're now monetarily worth by fiat Quadrillions of dollars" esp in ill gotten worldwide assets and control of Kings & Kingdoms and nations of the world all run by their systems as they require them to be IF the selected and installedvpuppets wish the continued monetary blessing of good, great or huge salary's, perks and grants with unlimited benefits to do only as directed from suceeding rings up to the inner circle which then is controller by he who offered all the kingdoms of the world to a 30yr old Jesus who was starving after 40 days of fasting likely at the weakest point upnto that point in His life...! The rest is the unfolding of His ministry, His New Covenant and the New Testament then written by His Apostles in the battle for the hearts, minds and soul of mankind still in progress as His command to preach the Gospel went and now is worldwide tho ths Darkside has never stopped esp seen in the advent of RCC - Islam + then Atheist MarXist Communism cloaked in Govmint Socialism as well as blatant materialism all leading to disrespect for Life once it was bury'd in Humanistic Hedonism's warped immoral unfolding as openly seen today...! After losing my parents I found myself in the scriptures more than ever. What had triggered my passion to do so? In my 50 years, growing up in a Cathorlic School, through the wavering, and back to the cornerstone of my life, I found Christ is everything. I see our creators "Thumb print" in everything, the more I read about things, nature, and technology, the more I see God's thumbprint in everything. From nerons, energy, our portioned functioning minds....the designs are so obvious. I have taken a closer look as well to the cultures and deversity in other countries, the beliefs, and perhaps how they may view the world from their perspectives. Indeed it was God's plan for us to be "fruitful" and "multipy". But the balance is something we should never get away from, we need bring the harmonious balance back into the world.

Bacon's book _"De dignitate et augmentis scientiarum libri IX"_ Is at the "Index Librorum Prohibitorum", which is a list of books that are forbidden by the church. After two near death experiences I discovered something that was always there but fear was hiding it from me. When facing death (perceived non-existence) and coming out the other side, fear of death goes away. Prior to this experience I was a seeker. After this experience my focus (natural desires) shifted to solutions, creativity, inventiveness, light heartedness and tremendous empathy towards humanity. Since I was no longer dealing with what I now call “core fear”, I could see in others how they are stuck where I once was.

@@bengreen171 Please brother, read the title of this video. Fathers of *modern science.* Empiricism, scientific method, repetitive experimentation, strive to know more whatever the cost. Those in Ancient Greece thought they could "deduce" the world. They got many truths, but also many falsehoods. The Arabs got stuck with the ancient Greco-Roman approach to philosophy (not worth calling science, I think). The Chinese were stuck to the abstract, and neglected the experimentation. The few Chinese that experimented, did it for a practical benefit (e.g. transmute gold) instead of for the sake of learning, which is an essential mentality for modern science. The ones in the modern age are off-topic. But even then, up until the late 19th century, it was rare for someone that wasn't religious to get into science. It happened, but was rare. Among Catholics, the mentality of science to be a form of worship still persists in some form, with people like Georges Lemaître (physicist, professor and first proponent of the Big Bang Theory) being Catholic priests full stop, that ventured into science with the purpose to glorify God. But not like these are relevant, this video is about the ORIGINS of MODERN science. The Fathers of modern science were all Christian. You're free to name one that wasn't, go ahead.

@@sandman1133 I have a comment under this video in which I go into detail regarding the philosophical claims. Regarding the historical claims : the reason why the scientific revolution is depicted as being against the church is because it was. Galileo, Copernicus, Descartes, Pascal, Bacon, Boyle, all were listed on the "index librorum prohibitorum", which means they wrote books that were forbidden by the church. If you read Bacon, you will see that he is very critical of Aristotle, who was the core of scholastics of the time, and embraced the outlook of Democritus, who was a pre-socratic materialist. Bacon explains that no school of thought had come closer to accurately describe nature than the ancient materialists... Which is one of the reason why the church was against him... The mechanistic model (Descartes, Gassendi, Newton) and the corpuscular theory (Galileo, Bacon, Boyle), are both inspired by the ancient school of Leucippus, which is materialism... That's why it is "against the church".
