What’s funny about Peterson, is that people expect him to be sexist and misogynistic, but he highly values traditionally feminine pursuits and convinces men to try to achieve those goals, like cleaning and decorating a room skillfully or raising healthy, well rounded children. He also speaks about his family and his bond with them with tears in his eyes on camera for the world to see: talk about a role-model for non-toxic masculinity! People really don’t get this man.

It’s the fact that most people are quick to judge before doing actual research on the person or things that are controversial. Most people can put an hour of their day scrolling through instagram, tik tok, or facebook but aren’t too interested in putting in the time to educate themselves clearer and let their feeling/ego get in the way of learning something new. Not to mention, there are a lot of people who seem to get overly sensitive nowadays when someone who’s actually strong, capable, and intelligent disagreeing with their delusional beliefs. Because That’s what happens when you base your own reality on delusions, it crumbles down easily in the face of actual reality itself, thus manifesting a projection instinct.

That title just reminded me of the time I heard a young teenage girl had been stripped naked and shot to death and they did catch the people who did it. A total of four people, four teens to be exact. They place covering the story showed portraits of the four of them and the victim was just absolutely stunningly beautiful, and the three teens who killed her looked rough as hell. I immediately thought, "jealousy". Those kids were jealous of that girl's beauty and... well... that was their response to being jealous. Which lead to the next thought, "being beautiful is scary." Beauty causes jealousy, and there is a reason jealousy is one of the seven deadly sins.

Not just beauty, but anything of worth will cause envy for those who don’t possess it. It takes maturity and strength to move pass envy and attempt to strive for something greater.

Beauty is an aesthetic choice for many people. You also tend to give more power towards those things that are considered beautiful by how you choose to value them. It’s quality over quantity. A golden image can be tawdry while a broken image can be valuable because it is redeemed for something greater.

I'm not saying that I'm a super model or anything, I have many flaws but I do try to take good care of myself. I have a stable job with professional and competent people now but, before, whenever I started a new position, without fail, there would be one woman who would hate my guts from the first day with no good reason. At first, I always tried to figure out why, what I had done, and try to be friendly with them. Every job I had, there was always that one woman who started spreading rumors or making passive agressive remarks about me, and I always wondered why. And it's funny because, after a while, I could always spot who it would be from the look they gave me on my first day: a look of contempt, looking at me from top to bottom, with a side eye. And it's always the incompetent ones who try to mask their incompetence with agressivity. You can see that they are deeply insecure but instead of trying to build themselves up, they try to tear your down. That's why I have a lot of respect for professional and conscientious people because they don't need to feel insecure about others in a work environment, they know they are competent in their field thanks to their hard work. They don't need to put others down to shine, they know their good work ethic will speak for themselves.

I dust, polish and vacuum my room once per week and wash my bedding once per week also. I fold all of my clothes whenever they're fresh out the laundry and everything is put away perfectly by the end of each day. Nothing can describe going to bed after my room has been cleaned and my bedding washed with that fresh smell, it's fantastic.

I spent my early career working in the art world. We all knew in the museum that there was this phenomenon of people randomly attacking paintings and sculpture. There are many documented cases of visitors just going mad and slashing or chopping or pushing over these beautiful priceless works of art. As if the work has attacked them first. Crazy how true this idea about beauty is. Some people react with hatred and violence towards it out of their own inadequacy.

I've always felt this to be one of the most despicable inclinations someone can have. If you destroy something out of inadequacy and/or jealousy, you are destroying something you yourself value as good in the world. It seems related to Nietzche's concept of ressentiment, but with less nuance behind it. In the sense that the person is fully conscious of what they're doing and has no alternative value system to reason from or explain why they destroy. Some of the most disturbing examples are murderers who specifically target good-looking people. Another is adults who are bitter about life and who see themselves as having very little potential. Some of whom become abusive to children who reflect back to them everything desirable they have either lost or never had.

Maybe they _think_ they're supposed to do that because it shows everybody how in touch they are with art. I would think that the response to beauty is overwhelming appreciation, not jealousy (I suppose unless you think that you lack beauty).

Mr. Popo Jordan Peterson became physically dependent on a drug called clonazepam. It was prescribed to him and he took this type of benzos to help him deal with the pain of seeing his wife go through cancer. He tried to get off of it cold turkey, but he experienced major withdrawals. He went through rehab but it was unsuccessful. As a last resort he traveled to Russia for an unorthodox way of getting of off the drug completely. He was put into some sort of coma and woke with neurological damage apparently. He couldn’t speak and function properly. Don’t know much else besides the fact he is recovering right now. I hope he feels better soon and we wish him and his family the best of luck. I miss the guy so much....

Beauty is proof of God; it's just that simple. There's no other practical reason for it. It reflects divine order and purpose; therefore reminding us of our flawed nature. But what's fascinating is; beauty is just an abstract concept, like love, joy, contentment, fulfillment, etc... they're not even tangible, YET man dies without them. Beauty, love and mercy can never come to be in a Darwinian world, yet form the very foundation of a created one. By saying beauty serves the purpose of ensuring the survival of "our species" you're placing man uniquely above nature just as God intended. That's because only man recognizes beauty and pursues relationship on that basis. All other life forms are merely responding to preprogrammed biological urges during mating season. Even the smelliest, ugliest, stray dogs get pregnant. (no offense to my canine friends) Colorful flowers bloom, attracting bees to their nectar. But unbeknownst to the bee, it gets covered in pollen, which then fertilizes a different tree, allowing it to bare fruit. That's another food source, but one that animals take away, eat and discard the core of. But that core contains seeds which will produce even MORE trees! So flowers form the basis of an entire ecosystem, all of which must exist simultaneously in order to function. Bees didn't happen to come along 90 million years later, with their fuzzy little legs perfectly designed to carry pollen from one plant to another. Everything must be there from the start or NONE of it works. (irreducible complexity) And yet with all that functionality, only man can recognize and appreciate the beauty of the flowers. And you're right about beauty not being "abstract" per se, because it can be measured and studied as a series of proportions and ratios. However it's still very much an abstraction because it's meant for man's enjoyment and enrichment; for his inspiration and for his passionate pursuit of perfection (apologies to Lexus lol). And those ARE abstract. The wise man is he who learns to think for himself, the fool is the one following the herd, never questioning the status quo. The moment you start to think for YOURSELF is the moment you'll begin the journey to discovering God. And nothing will be able to stop you. Thanks for your response.

I have been abused and because of that I cant function as a "normal" human being, cleaning my room isn't doing something I need to do, it's something I judge myself for not doing, and the reason I don't do it is because it's useless. So for me my life is about figuring out what I want to do, and what I think is usefull. So I appreciate everything that I've learned, but the lessen I took from that is that I need to learn how I do things that I think are helping me, because I can feel what I need, I've just been ignoring it all my life because people told me they knew how to fix my problems, which I know now is not really true.

The benifit of "cleaning your room" is that no matter how difficult your life is, so long as you have a room, you have an area that you are responsible for maintaining that you spend a significant portion of your life in. Say you spend 10 hours a day in your room, that is 3650 hours a year spent living in this room. If your room is covered in junk and is an overall unproductive place to spend your time then you are spending just under half of your life in an environment that does not produce any value to you. However cleaning it up and making it beautiful is one area that you have complete control and choice over and in doing so allows you to expand incrementally that control into other significant areas of your life as you have set up an environment dedicated to providing you a space to improve as a person. Also maintaining this is a small win and can provide the motivation and courage to improve yourself as an individual which at the end of the day is the only thing that you truly have control over.

@Taylor Jones I would encourage you to do more research, he says he is a classical liberal but has appeared at many events as a conservative speaker and his opinions line up with most all conservative view points, not something I entirely hold against him, I however have come around to finding him to be wrong about more than a few things and that he tends to mask a lot of his opinions with centrism as many conservatives do
