I saw the podcast and I didn't think Dray's answer to the question was that bad. They asked him if the reports about what was said in practice was accurate. He said it wasn't. They asked him what Poole said, and Dray just said he don't just hit people, it was something that built up over time. He also said that he didn't handle it well and that he wish Poole all the best. If you just say the quote, "I don't just hit people," you'd think Dray was blaming Poole for getting punched, but that wasn't what he was saying at all. People are dumb. Stop making it too easy for the media to clickbait you. It's so easy to watch the entire clip before reacting to a quote with no context.
@yg2522 Жыл бұрын
well of course media outlets are gonna just quote the juicy stuff out of context. how else are you getting that clickbait.

Why don't old azz, Draymond Green FOR ONCE, take the high road, like Jordan Poole has done, this ENTIRE time? When asked questions about something that happened months ago, WHY don't old azz Draymond Green just change the subject, the way young Jordan Poole does? Why don't Draymond at least ACT like he wasn't raised ghetto? But what am I saying, ghetto, poorly raised, donkey looking Draymond'Green CAN'T be something he has proven he is NOT. A decent, humble, reasonable human being. The Warriors let Jordan Poole go, they kept you, NOW what's wrong with you. Let IT GO. Because, frankly, EVERY single time Draymond Green keep talking about HIS assault on Jordan Poole, it's like "sucker punching Poole" all over again
@vince3139 Жыл бұрын
people are not dumb. you are dumb. and so is draymond. if you are draymond green and you are trying to win a damn championship the last thing you wanna do is give the media ANYTHING they can use to create drama, WITH OR WITHOUT CONTEXT. The best way to do that is to NOT answer every damn question they throw at you or at least dance around it. DONT TALK ABOUT THE PUNCH PERIOD. it's not that hard. nobody is holding a gun to his head. he's talked about it a billion times already. let it go. this is why the profession of PR exists. don't blame the media for clickbaiting headlines, don't blame the people for taking quotes out of context. blame draymond for being a media attention whore who values his media career more than his basketball career.

It wasn't a "sucker punch." Unless, we are calling Jordan Poole a "sucker" for not realizing when you are in tension situation with anybody, you should expect the worst. Everybody should learn from Marlo Stanley from "The Wire." Right or wrong, you should never think a situation is only one way. Meaning, even when justified, if you choose to step up to somebody, then you should be ready to take it as far as they are willing to take it.

I'm totally with Gil on what to do as a father in that situation. The others who are saying they would press Draymond as a father are thinking about themselves and how their son getting hit would make them feel, but what Gil's suggesting would actually be better for the son and is actually respecting the son as his own person. I can't be stepping into a situation on behalf of my adult son just so that everyone can crack jokes on him being weak forevermore
@sclay757 Жыл бұрын
I think immature people will see it that way for sure. But if you're mature and wise and have children you'd understand the father is just doing that out of love not because his son asked him to. I think most rational fathers can respect where the dad is coming from. If I was Dray I would understand off rip why and where Poole's dad is coming from. And I think Dray did which is why he was so respectful and remorseful early on. He understands as a father seeing a clip of your baby getting knocked out on repeat will evoke a response from a decent father.

the problem i have with all of this, is that dray put hands on a teammate. plenty could be said. plenty could have been done to defuse whatever the issue. but you do something to actually attempt to hurt your teammate or anyone as a matter of fact, the relationship is changed. there’s no going back to the way it was. fights get started all the time. but once it’s a mate, it’s difficult to cooperate.
