Ep. 379
What you are about to watch is an abridged version of the full interview between Dr. Jordan B. Peterson and women’s rights activist Helen Joyce. Due to content policies that could threaten our ability to use this platform, a 34-minute cut is necessary. Regardless, the conversation contained within is important now more than ever. If you would like to support freedom of speech and the free exploration of ideas, then please consider watching the full 2-hour interview on the DailyWire+: bit.ly/3KrWbS8
Dr. Jordan B. Peterson and Helen Joyce discuss the takedown of their last interview on this channel, the true tradition of women’s rights, and the harsh reality of what women stand to lose today.
Helen Joyce is an Irish novelist and journalist, acting as the executive editor for events and business at the Economist in London. Before this, she trained as a mathematician, graduating from the Trinity College in Dublin, before attending Cambridge. She then acquired a PhD in geometric measure theory at the University College London. She has held many roles as a journalist, working for PLUS Magazine and Significance Magazine, both of which have an emphasis on communicating complex math and statistics to the everyday reader. Later, she would spend three years as the Economist’s foreign correspondent to Brazil, living in São Paulo. In 2018, Joyce curated a series of articles on transgender identity, which led her to author the Sunday Times bestselling book, “Trans: When Ideology Meets Reality.”

I relate with this so much. My own 27 yr old daughter has , for the most part, cut me out of her life except for the very occasional text or visit because I ordered the book by Abigail Shrier Irreversible Damage. I even tried to explain that I wanted to read it and make up my own mind about the Trans issue. She wouldn't even listen to my opinion and called me a Terf, Bigot, and Transphobe. I love her, but I will not be told how to think by extremists, even my own daughter. I won't be silenced and I thank you both for speaking the truth.

That's awful. I'm around your daughter's age, and my parents recently passed away. I'd give anything to see them again, and your daughter cuts you out for simply being a rational person? That's absolutely insane. If I could say anything to your daughter, it would be to wake the hell up and leave the cult of dissociation...that's me being nice about it, too. 😡

It's a problem for me as an adult. Women have sports league just as men do. They should respect those boundaries. If you want a mixed league then set them up. We don't permit a person that is a physical strong but low IQ to hurt people in the Special Olympics. Because we know that someone physically stronger could hurt someone playing in a rough game. This is about Common Sense as well!

If you knew about the military grade wireless BCI having free speech is nothing. The question is are the words yours? 60 years the have been social engineering with it. It is not fun when you discover it. It is a little fun after you stop crying and think about the possibilities Then it goes back to crying because they won't change how they are using it. liberalism is built upon two ideas: maximum freedom and maximum equality. Both of these ideas are erroneous because human behavior has to be restricted for the greater good therefore negating maximum freedom. Maximum equality is not possible due to differences in knowledge which establishes hierarchy. We must subjugate ourselves to law of Allah(the most exalted) who has totality of data, therefore being the only one that has the right to legislate.

Jordan would have been better off to scrap this episode & put his wife on to give her take instead --- "Women invaded men's spaces so badly & this is part of the blowback" Jordan's wife is correct. Women voted for equal rights because they thought their would only be positives & no negatives. Now some women want equal rights + special privileges, which isn't equal rights. Do men get any special privileges? Yeah, I thought not. - Men have got to help women with this problem they & their 'sisters created', so those same women can have more time to spend tearing down more men's rights? HARD PASS!

I lived in countries in Asia where the people aren't fat and retarded like North America, and they had unisex washrooms at basically every restaurant. It was just that a restaurant was allowed to have a toilet and sink with a door rather than building a 2 million dollar building with 5 mandatory handicapped spaces etc because of mentally ill building codes. Therefore they could have more restaurants and more affordable food and culture. In sports, the issue is that nobody cares because women suck shit at sports. The US gold medal winning women's soccer team routinely loses against 14 year old local area boys teams. Nobody cares about female sports, they're about as important and relevant as the special Olympics. The Special Olympics is there to make the "special athletes" feel good about themselves, and that's what we are doing with women's sports. Making some little girls feel special. But let's not pretend they're actually good at anything. Every conservative who pretends this is an issue is an extreme hypocrite who has never watched an hour of the WNBA. If you spend money on the women's sporting league, for example you buy LPGA tickets, then maybe you should have a say. Until then you're a hypocrite who doesn't even watch (because the "athletes" suck shit--since they're women).

We are now (in the past 5 or so decades) getting more and more detached from the moral norms as religious practice, belief and disciplines fade away (or are eroded into through negative publicity by the legacy media). Youngsters do not want to identify with a religion or culture, especially in the West. Second generation migrants are still bound by ties through their families who retain the values within families however this is also slipping away. Morality is being ruled by norm-setting through a clash of social media influencers, celebrities, entertainment/media which normalises certain types of behaviours.

I agree. I think this has happened many many times in history. Especially during wars, where one area is conquered... suddenly have to adopt new social norms. We are in a new kind of war with the technology. Social norms and morality are being questioned and patterns cataloged and used at an increasing rate. They tear down the fences without even knowing why the fence was there in the first place or knowing what kind of effect it will have down the line. I read yesterday that native american shamans used to try to foresee the consequences of their decisions down 7 generations... that's a kind of ideal of super consciousness the western mind never really had. So, here we are on the freight train... it always seems to lead to only one thing eventually... war.

What a joy to listen to you both talking about the current situation that we’re going through right now. Silencing people is a major issue right now. Please keep talking about issues that matters to all of us. Women are still thinking of safety, privacy, dignity, and consent. Why can’t we have difficult conversations and find solutions to what’s really going on in our society right now? Canceling people who are truth tellers isn’t the way to go. We’re all connected and bleed the same. 😢

Thank you for mentioning the families that have it in their house. Yes its very isolating. The result is I've walked away from friendships. I'm not totally silent but I'm very thoughtful about who I reveal this information to. I'm also very careful about how I communicate this information. Most people automatically think they know what you are thinking when they hear you are a family of faith with a family member navigating this issue. They try to push the old "Pepsi Challenge" of ideas on you. They can't seem to wrap their mind around that there could be loving families that fundamentally disagree on a topic but that truly love each other and that can remain close. All my immediate family have grown closer because of rejecting the Pepsi Challenge.

She dismisses men's reluctance to compete with women too easily. It's far too simple to claim men just don't want to be beaten by a girl. The reality is males are terrified to hurt a female. Even if a woman the size of Mike Tyson stepped into the ring with a man the size of Scarlett Johansson, if he hit her back at full force and actually hurt her....he would never live it down. No matter what she said, no matter how passionately she demanded him to not hold back. Same is true of every sport that requires physical effort, even cricket. If a man throws a ball and it injures a woman, he would be demonised. But with all that said...even if men were completely fine with giving it their all against a woman and the only reason they didn't want compete was because they didn't want to lose...so what? Why is that an unacceptable reason? If it is a male standard and falls within their expectation of dignity, who are you say that they should have to go against that? You spoke at length about female only spaces and why one reason is dignity. Well, why are you the only ones allowed to advocate to keep your dignity intact?

I have been a bohemian and a hippie and still am to a large degree ; I have lived in communes and squats , I have experimented a lot on all fronts and always have tried to be fair and open minded . I can safely say that what is happening today in London ; and by extension Western culture that creeps in all over the world , definitely true for Romania, is utter and complete madness, Babylon decadence and at this point as horrific as it may sounds I believe a war between the West and East ( US /China) might be the only way out achieve some manner of balance It is not an exaggeration to say that I feel myself just loosing my mind (previously being someone who would always make sense of things ) within London society If you are not LGBT advocate you have no life in London It's a tragic state of affairs I beg more of you to stand up to this madness
