This conversation was recorded on May 9, 2022.
Pierre Poilievre, a life-long conservative, is the current front-runner in the Canadian federal Conservative Party's leadership race, and a contender for the next Prime Minister of Canada. Mr. Poilievre has served as a trusted senior cabinet minister in Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s government and as a Member of Parliament for seven terms. He grew up in Calgary and graduated from the University of Calgary with a degree in International Relations.
We discussed his election efforts, Canada’s energy infrastructure and economic policy, as well as Poilievre’s mission to tackle the housing crisis, lower the cost of living, defund Canadian media, and develop Canadian natural resources.
To vote for Pierre Poilievre as the conservative leader you must become a member: www.pierre4pm.ca/membership

Thank you, Dr. Peterson for this important discussion. I admire you both and not just because we're all Albertans (hello from Medicine Hat!). I hope you will actually speak with Mr. Polievre again - this chat could easily have gone another two hours, so please do make it happen. I would also be very interested to hear you speak with Dr. Leslyn Lewis. Everyone I know, including myself, feels that Pierre's time is now - but Dr. Lewis is fantastic, and I hope to vote for her in a future federal election, as well.

Money is created at the point of loan approval. Why can private banks "coin" currency and collect usury based on fractional reserves. Frderal governments should "coin" 100% currency and can issue credit for real real assets where the land or projected house or building is its own backing for the full-reserve locally asministered banking system.

It’s rare to see a politician who is willing to sit down for a two hour unscripted discussion. For those of us interested in long form discussion and getting insight into the mind of a leader, this talk between Jordan Peterson and Pierre Poilievre is a must watch.

It's even rarer to have a prominent politician engage in an interview specifically with someone like Jordan Peterson, given all the (unjust) negative press associated with them. It's no secret that The Media strongly dislikes and tries to smear anyone critical of Radical Leftism, Jordan Peterson especially, let alone in Canada which is traditionally much more left leaning compared to our southern counterparts. So to have a mainstream politician willing to overlook that superficial negative press and actually engage in good faith with someone that won't softball questions, well it's refreshing to say the least.

Never thought I’d see the day when a conservative candidate was the only one truly championing for the working class. I’ve been strictly an NDP voter in the 18 years since I became old enough to vote - except for the horrible mistake I, along with many other Canadians, made in 2015 when I voted for sunny ways that never came - and have never voted conservative once. But that will change in the next cycle, provided you manage to stave off the establishment plant that is Jean Charest and secure the CPC leadership. I look forward to voting for you Mr. Poilievre. I’m still liberal in many ways, but in 2016 I decided that the Liberals were doing more harm to this country than good, and JBP played a part in that. The only reason I give my full support to the CPC, is because Pierre has promised to actually fight ideologies that promote collectivism, postmodernism and deconstructionism, wanton socialism, governmental bloat and authoritarianism. Furthermore, he holds the fort on conservative ideology and doesn’t concede to radical leftists’ shaming when one person shouts racist or some other slanderous and baseless adjective.

Pierre’s father was a teacher at the elementary school I went to in Calgary. In 1979 he brought his baby to class and we all got to see the baby Pierre. We also lost our house because of the Trudeau/Chretien economic policies and theft of Alberta oil revenues. There was no work in the construction industry for a couple years and they were terrible times.

@@michaelchong7818 Thanks Michael. So many people I know in Calgary lost their homes at that time. My understanding is people would just sell their house to the bank for $1 to dump the mortgage because of the insane interest rates at the time. We downsized to a smaller cheaper house and my mom could work at a Alberta govt run clinic so we didn’t starve but I remember family members going to the food bank. A year later I was 15 and could work so took two jobs (fast food ones) while in high school. Used to work until midnight and take the bus home in the winter and basically slept through school for a couple of years….then my father, unable to get any construction work eventually became the janitor at my high school (oh yeah fun). But all hardship can lead to good if you work hard. Eventually I got through university and did quite well working and living around the globe. But to say I despise Pierre Trudeau and everyone within his Liberal party with every element fiber of my being would be an understatement. And I despise his stepson and his sellout of Canada even more.

I once met Trudeau in person and there was something super off about him that really bothered me. Like he was trying to pull a façade. At the time I couldn't disentangle whether it was do to him being a politician or it was actually him. There were no cameras where we met but that encounter genuinely changed my view on him. Only now after all the scandals that I realized that my initial gut feeling was probably right

Agreed, it is refreshing to see and hear a politician actually answer questions rather than talk around the question and spew some rehearsed narrative. I have watched several interviews with Pierre Poilievre and impressed. He seems knowledgeable, well read on current issues, thoughtful and articulate. As an American I would love to have a politician like him here. As far as I can tell the vast majority of US politicians are totally self serving and at best focused on enriching themselves and at worst tearing down our system of government (while enriching themselves).
