Great demo. You are teaching a lesson to those who question the abilities of the instrument...

I'm not interested in whether other ppl question the value of the recorder. They don't concern me. I'm here because I love the instrument and enjoy playing it. In general, recorder players seem so insecure about their instrument and care way too much about what other ppl think of it. Who cares? If you love something, don't waste your time convincing others of its value. It's beneath you. This guy is awesome. Do you think he gives a damn what others think? Do you think Sarah Jeffrey or Michala Petri give doubters a second thought? No, they don't. They're too busy making music. So watch this video for youself and forget everyone else.

It shows that you get out of an instrument what you can put into it. The instrument is the extension of the player.

Wow! You demonstrate far more special techniques for recorder than I could ever have dreamed were possible! I have just purchased a quality tenor recorder to begin learning this fascinating instrument which, unbeknownst to the general public, has a very rich history in classical music. Thank you, Jorge, for this very instructive video!

This guy looks like he's gonna marry a recorder because how he kisses it.
@georginagrisham10277 жыл бұрын
MarioFan2000 Basically, the recorder works like an extention of our trachea. If you don't 'kiss' your instruments, they sound harsh or pressed very fast. Summed up, you can say, that your trachea is part of the Instrument too. and every little change in tension or relaxation of our muscles in our human 'windway' changes the sound. So, to play a recorder professionally is very difficult. It's not just the fingering. Most of the work is not visual.
