I think Ducati have no choice but to take Marquez into the factory team, they have all the data and know what Marc can do, he won 3 GP on an old bike and the next GP23 in half his points tally. Gigi knows that if Marc left for like KTM and they produce a decent bike in 2025, then it will be difficult to beat him and they didn’t trust Pecco enough to do that job.

right man, being a Factory rider isn't all about winning the Championship but also helping on developing the bike and with Marc Marquez, Ducati knows he's the best man that can do it both

If MM93 is so good at developing bikes, why is the honda so bad now?. It was Pedrosa that developed the bike. When honda let Pedrosa go the bike development went down the toilet, with MM93 doing the development.
@elemenopikyuarestiyuvi12 күн бұрын
@@marcos7106 there will be no discussion like this if Marc has not been on that career ending injury (no factory rider no bike development) and with COVID, Honda was stagnant in 2020 which led to there problems now. Pedrosa may have been with Honda for a long time and been there first before Marc means he's the only Rider who developed the bike. Marc Marquez and Honda were the most successful partnerships in MotoGP history and I don't need to repeat the numbers for you.

I rooted for him from day one, but as an MM fan, I had to agree with Ducati holding on to MM. The only rider on a gp23 or any other bike on the grid giving peco and JM consistent competition was MM. Now remember, this guy denied Ducati and Dovi for a couple of years, the title and still on Ducati had a bike for the past 8 years capable of winning the title but MM was the man standing in the way. The start of this decade showed it was inconsistency and mistakes why they were beaten to the titles. Not discrediting the other manufacturers and riders of their titles, but Ducati knew if it took such little time for MM to adapt to their bike and looking at Pedro on the KTM and AE on the Aprilia leaving MM to be snatch up by rivals could bring an end to the domination. MM scored majority of Honda points in 2019 to win the triple crown.

I actually don't know if a switchback to Ducati in 2027 would be exactly the cleverest thing to do for Martín, due to the fact that the rules and bikes will change fundamentally in exact this season. Would be very frustrating if Aprilia comes around with the better bike than Ducati and Martín is siting on the slower one again.
@stevecam72411 күн бұрын
Ducati is not a charity it's a commercial company that must make the best choices it sees, not what dimwitted people like Crafar think. Matin and Bastianini were both effective riders and the decision came down to a more emotionally stable Bastianini. Bastianini got wiped out early in 2023 and he never really got his footing right after that. As for Martin vs Marquez it's clear Ducati looked at the data and looked at the star power of Marquez and said commercially we have to keep this guy on our bike because even if he can't win a championship, he will be a fantastic draw card for Ducati with fans and sponsors. Personally I think it's Martin that will regret not riding the GP25 next year because the Aprilia is nowhere near as competitive. I also think KTM is going to regret Bastianini in 2025.

Well didn't he do the same thing to KTM. JM is doing what he thinks is best for his career and also Ducati is doing what they think is best for them. Hence why he is trying to get on what he thinks is the best.
@loud_v8_noises12 күн бұрын
This comment is insane. Ducati has all the data - they know Marc was competitive on a GP23 bike that was 0.4 sec slower per lap than the GP24 and Marc was still learning the bike. Martin and Pecco’s performance was topped out. What you saw was all you were ever going to get from them but with Marc it was clear he had room to grow and get faster even though he was nearly matching the GP24 guys on inferior machinery. It sucks for Martin but the choice was clear as day if you actually understand the situation.

"One lap is his strength" makes sense for a guy who won the 2024 title mostly from results in the "Silly Saturday Sprints". Hard not to wonder if his ego will bite him in the a__ next season as he tries to force his way to the front without a Ducati. Simon Patterson is "Mr. Woulda/Coulda/Shoulda" lots of hot-air about stuff that didn't happen with zero way to know if it ever would/could/should happen. Hindsight is always 20/20, how 'bout some predictions (that we can come back and review) for 2025? Will #93 wipe-the-floor with everyone as his fanboys loudly predict? Will it be Senna/Prost in the Ducati factory garage? Will #93 send Borgo Panigale down development dead-ends (with results like HRC's recent disaster) in a few seasons or will they listen to Bagnaia and the others?

Glad Martin won the title but let’s be 100% clear here Marc Marquez was absolutely the correct choice for 2025. The fact that he was matching the GP24 pace on an early spec GP23 bike that Ducati knows to be 0.4sec/lap slower demonstrates that Marquez was significantly more talented than either Pecco or Martin. Ducati leadership had the data from all their riders and knew the spec of each bike. Also, Marc still has room to improve as he only has 1 season on the Ducati whereas Martin and Pecco have ridden the bike for years - you know what you’re getting from either of them and nothing more. This was not a marketing driven decision because MM93 just flat out is faster than all the other riders in Ducati’s employ.
