Great comments. Conciderations are all good. In this case I was kiting with only a few experienced locals in offshore 40 knots the day before. Predictions for the next day where 10-20knots extra. So we filmed this in gusts up to 65knots, further out on sea they recorded gusts of 80knots same say, but we trained in those conditions in The Netherlands and Capetown so that’s not the issue. As I had no faith anyone on the water would go out next day I called up Joris, who at the age of 16, took exactly 2 hours to get all his gear to the airport to fly in for the next day. We could barely hold on to the kite in launching position as a helper, so scarry as what! But we are each others safety plan, well instructed what to do when, with people on the beach well thought what to do when as well. I figured out a lot of trouble on Balneario happening to people in insane conditions. Main rule is just don’t let anybody go out of sight alone. Calmling act as their beacon. Just know what you’re doing or don’t do it.

In princiepe wel ja. Genoeg trainen en vooraf bedenken wat in welke situatie handig is maakt het een stuk veiliger. Maar dat het altijd weer op t randje zit is wel duidelijk ja, iedereen moet zn eigen limiet kennen.

Doing that in offshore winds it's pretty dangerous. If something goes wrong you simply drift away from the coast. It's strongly not recommended even though you are an "expert"
