I have 2 DFAM’s purely because they are not drum machines. That’s where I think they really shine at stepping away from the ubiquitous typical ‘drum’ patch sounds.

thank the 909 or its stepsequencer ... the sample of the clap to be sometimes a milisec before or after the kick. maybe its just the charm of analog circuits imperfect timing actually... haha

I feel it became cool romanticizing TRs. I think people are just so deprived of regular human imperfections that they mistake TR sequencer imperfections for swing.

@Olivier Coq That's what I mean with romanticizing. A good plugin from the last five years is indistinguishable from an analog synth if you make blind A/B comparisons by ear. Analog doesn't sound better, it's a perpetuated myth.

I might get the dfam next year.I have the mother 32 and electron digitakt with the se02 plugged in at moment.JD08 on its way soon so plenty to go at...But I think the dfam is next purchase.

start with a Korg Volca, Teenage Engineering Pocket Operators, and Moog Mother 32 are all great devices to start with

You will need some sort of mini mixer

Mount it all in travel cases and get some portable stands. Have a basic stero out that can be plugged into any dj mixer for gigs
