Another relatively easy but way more entertaining method for mod farming is to go to the small valley northeast of the Sun-steps Tallneck. There you find two Thunderjaws (plus a few Grazers and occasionally Glinthawks). Now just shoot one of the Thunderjaws with corruption arrows and lean back while you watch them battle it out. You'll need to refresh the corruption one or maybe two times. After finishing the remaining Thunderjaw off (should be easy because it's weakened by then), loot them, fast travel to the nearest campfire and repeat. Takes a bit longer though, but doesn't feel as repetitive. Plus, this method isn't dependent on not finishing one mission.

@@jonathon.pereira9276 As long as you shot the uncorrupted Thunderjaw at least once during the fight (with the smallest amount of damage even), you should get the XP even when it's killed by the other one. But tbh, I didn't really think about that. Even in my first playthrough I didn't care as much about leveling up because there's plenty stuff to do to that end. I was more concerned with getting the best gear. I acknowledge that this isn't the most efficient method, but it's a decent compromise between getting good mods relatively fast and getting a bit of excitement out of the whole process. And if the quest with the Behemoth is already done, this may be the next best thing.

Also, yea your method is really great, one of the best ones actually, cause if you were to sell the 6 purple mods you get from both the thunderjaw's .. that's like 300 shards right there, and also, you get an extra 300-500 shards from killing the thunderjaw's itself. In an hour, you practically get between 10,000-12,000 shards if you take 3-4 mins approx for each run.. and if you sell the extra resources that they drop, that's an extra thousand or so shards . Great method man, keep up the good work and thanks for letting me know about this .

@@yorucorvus you would get between 80-90 approx per hour depending on how much time you take to kill both the thunderjaw's.. if it's 3 minutes, you will get 120 mods per hour, but if it's between 3-4 mins, you will get 90 mods per hour

Never knew of this game when it was on PS4, since I don't own a Playstation. Started seeing people running PC Benchmarks on it recently, gave it a try, and it's quickly become one of my favourite games in recent years. Sunk an easy 15-20hrs into it already, and I've barely progressed the main storyline. Fun to play and beautiful environments to look at.

the main story is quite short so i'd def suggest doing a lot of side quests and speedrun the hunting grounds and cauldrons for that early-op playthrough.

there are 11 special mods in total in the frozen wilds dlc area. up side you can get dupes by NG+ since you keep the one's you got the first time around and then can get them again in the new game+ run.

Regular purple Mod can sometimes be as good as the special mods with good rng.

True if you can get the normal purple mod RNG gods to smile on you they can grant mods that especially for the weapons can be better. but having the FW special weapons mods on those weapons they are built for on adept tier 4 slot weapons in two of those slots can nearly max out the main stats so using other purples to fill out say handling in the other two slots can be amazing in ultra hard mode.

The mod farm still works for me when I came back to it. I just fast travelled in, went to behemoths, walked away as if I were resetting it, then went back to them and they had the mods and loot on them. Haven't turned in the quest yet, don't know if that matters.

The purple mod farm at the end of the video actually doesnt disappear even if you leave. I did the farm early and even after turning off my consle and beating the game the bodies still spawn the loot. All you gotta do is run to the bodies and loop back and forth from the tree like in the video. Only thing i havent tested is if they still spawn after you complete the mission. So this is an easy purple mod farm forever.

If you go back after fast travelling away the mods will not be loaded on the machine bodies, but they will spawn again if you go round the tree and back to the bodies. The mods will not respawn after completing the quest though.

It is still easier to fight the Area with 2 Thunderjaws with freeze and Hard point arrows. Location is West of Free Heap in the Canyon with the Thunderjaw Spawn. The save point/fast travel is just South of the Spawn Area. You can get Six Purple mods per run and sell what you don't need to Free Heap. If you need wire you get them from the Lance horns in the area. That's the quickest way to make money, gain Exp and the best mods build very early in the game.

@@yorucorvus. Let's see, I sell my mods that I don't want at Free Heap that is usually 60 mods. Plus also selling the the resources you get from harvesting from 2 Thunderjaws. Also Excluding the green chest. My average Shard profit per run not by hour but per max mod limit I can carry and selling resources is around 8,000 - 9,000 shards. You can hold a max of 70 mods at a time . You can farm 6 purple mods every fast travel respawn in the area. In 11.5 respawn encounters you can profit 9,000 shards plus exp and become "OP" sooner too. It takes me 2 -4 minutes tops to farm the Thunderjaws and fast travel back to the save point and quick save then repeat.

The last farm with a 3 behemoths is one of the best thank you. Literally did it for 2 hours just to farm scrap(money); kinda went crazy but now am set for life with 60k scrap. If you wanna get even 25k easy for early game just upgrade your mod and resource capacity early and unlock the disassemble skill you will be raking in scrap. Purple mods disassemble for a lot once you have the best of every Stat and don't need the others(I recommend keeping at least two of the highest and one of the best hybrids)

Gosh dang I love this game. The only downside is the limited resources capacity. I constantly have maxed resources and it sucks. And this is with me hemorrhaging ridge wood in Very Hard mode. You can actually fast travel back to the spot where the behemoths are you just need go back to the big tree and turn around again and they'll have more stuff for you to loot, just dont finish the side quest

JorRaptor I teleport back and forth to Maridian and sell extras and turn in for chests and can still loot everything. I always save at the fire camp across the river before porting incase anything happens. Nothing has happened yet and I was doing this just last week.

Eh, its really not very useful when you play ultra hard, especially the dlc in ultra hard. The purple flower towers literally render it useless, the new machinces like the scorcher and frostclaw take out the entire sheild and then some with one hit....its good for story-hard modes but ultra hard? No.

Shield Weaver is good for Normal/Hard difficulty, but it's far from the best if you're attempting to play Ultra Hard NG+. The best armor is actually - drum roll please - the one that gives the most *Stealth* value & the specific *elemental resist armor from Frozen Wild DLC.*

I prefer the "Tripwire a T-Rex" method of Mod farming, but Raw Cheese is never a bad thing. Also, one presumes that the Unique Mods can be reacquired in NG+? Doing a few Story runs and farming said Uniques before tackling Ultra Hard (for the cosmetic Facepaint and Focus) might not be a bad idea.

@@joshualoera8248 That is honestly a good question. Let us just say that it is a "Well Tested" farming method, and trying to 1-shot the giant bird requires more luck than skill. Given that there is a T-Rex right next to a bonfire, Kill/Save/Load Save/Repeat becomes second nature.

you can loot the behemoths again lol just ride around that tree and come back, respawned loot over and over, basically you can keep looting throughout your whole playthrough as long as the quest says deliver the cables to petra, this guys info should really be taken with a grain of salt, i've seen some other of his videos on other titles and found a lot of misinformation

Because you doubted the existence of standard Melee 20 Mods : I have one standard purple mod with Melee 20 Corruption 16 Stealth 5 I have one with Melee 20 Shock 16 Stealth 5 I have one with Ranged 20 Freeze 17 Melee 7 (those are serious contenders for best mod prize)

the best stealth suit filled with the best stealth mods.... one bow with full tear so you can strip anything down using the triple shot.... then use your full damage modded powershotbow and let those three arrows oneshot most things... and they'll never see you coming... or leaving (edit the only thing you'll be buying from the vendor will be lots of wire for the precision arrows)

Is there an armour that gives Melee Resistance, Ranged Resistance and Elemental Resistance?

Not really, most armours are more specialised rather than giving general resistances. You can however get all these on one armour using purple item mods (especially the special ones from the dlc). If you're on difficulties up to normal you can just make one armour for all general purposes, on higher difficulties (especially Ultra Hard) I recommend specializing. Make one armour for melee, one for fire, one for frost,... Since outfits are quite expensive try to protect yourself against the more common damage types first. Stealth outfits are also really good.

@@MocharaidThree Try to use stealth mods on the stealth outfit, then add the melee and ranged mods on something like the Nora Protector outfit. That way you're pretty much invisible while wearing the stealth outfit, unless you attack enemies or stand in front of them. If you enter combat, just switch outfits. :) It'll make a huge difference. I've done a couple playthroughs, most of them on the highest difficulty (Ultra Hard). Last playtrough I mostly used a Heavy Nora protector outfit with full melee defense mods. Melee attacks from a thunderjaw barely made a dent in my health. If you are good at dodging, shield weaver is a really good option. Buying all kinds of outfits on Ultra Hard isn't really doable without grinding a lot, so it really helps in the DLC. The DLC outfits you can buy with bluegleam are absolutely worth it too, especially the stealth one.

Hey @JorRaptor HELP!!! I finished the Final Battle and after a message popped up saying you can do new game plus at menu. I still have some to do in FrozWilds. So I clicked continue which I believed meant I go back to the game without starting game plus. I was surprised to find myself back at Meridian talking to Avad about a threat coming from West. And I can go rest in some dudes room before the final battle !! Help. I finished final battle but now do I have to do it twice ??

After doing the final battle you just pop back up where you were before. Not a bug at all. Just go to the frozen wilds on foot, you aren't going to teleport there magically. If you can't enter the Frozen wilds at all, it's because you don't have the DLC. (Complete edition has the DLC, the normal/older version needs to buy it.)

@@SunlessSage ah yes, I think I googled this and discovered a screenshot on Reddit that comes up after finishing the game, a screen I didn’t fully read at the time lol, telling me after the final battle I will return to the game as though the final battle has yet to happen. I was able to access Frozen Wilds and you are correct I didn’t transport there magically lol, I trekked my way over and finished that. Am a couple Trophy’s away from Platinum trophy. Pretty sweet game! Can’t wait for part 2
