I have to say, this looks like the only smartphone that I'd ever purchase. Limitations to hardware, only the most nescessary programs work on it, a physical disconnection to the connectivity and it has an E-Ink display. Perfect. I have no idea why people complain about pricing or limitations. There are real smartphones for the same price out there but people should ask themselves how other companies manage to sell it for that low of a price in the first place. It will be the first phone that I purchase in 8 years, I hope the software won't crash or anything. I've been using the Nokia 215DS for the past 8 and it did not crash once. I'm kinda afraid it could be the only drawback with this device since it is way more complex and gets software updates etc. wich the Nokia 215DS does not get. Thanks for the videos. Every question has been answered and I don't get why so many people still ask all these questions in the comments.

I have not tested these. But knowing that this device doesn’t have Google Play Services I doubt they will work.

Thank you so much your reviews are always useful. This has solidified my decision. I must have a few sideloaded apps in a minimal phone like this. This works better for where my life is right now than the light phone. I can't wait till it's released in the US.

Will the phone allow me to forward a SMS as a mail? That could be useful If I don't want a browser on the phone.

If you install a 3rd party SMS system like Google messages, this should not be an issue.

Great video - really helpful! What is the small grey [+] symbol that is floating on the right side of the screen? Is this a mudita thing or is it something that you've sideloaded?

Something I sideloaded. It's a keymapper integration. A few software updates ago, it was the only way to access the Android apps, but they have patched that issue since then.

I'm somewhat tech savvy, but can anyone explain the data I see at the plexus site? I'm trying to understand what it is telling me about the Kindle app, for example, but I don't understand the symbols it gives me when I search that app. In a dark gray box on the top it says 0.0 and then in a light gray box on the bottom it says μ3.0 but I do not know what this means in terms of whether or not Kindle is supported.

Also question about whatsapp, if I add this too the Kompakt can facebook still collect and sell my data? This is the main reason I left whatsapp 5 years ago, I currently use a light phone but I could see myself returning to whatsapp IF, facebook is not profiting from my use of it, also would Uber work on this device?

If you use WhatsApp, Meta profits. There is no way around that. Uber can work on this device if you loaded it via browser.

Aurora is the best. You can sync Google calendar if you use a 3rd party calendar and DavX5

hello jose, did you notice that balance phone is applied on samsung a16 5g and is now live? Seems like a great functional solution (except for the big screen) and a strong competitor in the area of non-smart (?) tool devices. What do you think about this collaboration?

I think it is very interesting and a good option for those looking for a restricted smartphone. A bit expensive, but something to keep an eye on. I personally would create my own basic smartphone via ADB, but I get that some people prefer the process to be done for them.

Once the phone is in actual release and shipped to backers, I will be able to show that. Currently, I am only showcasing the progress of the device since it is still a prototype. I don't want to make a video like that until they are shipping units to their backers.

probably wont buy it anytime soon… currently on my small iPhone SE 2016.. but im pretty impressed so far… it makes much more sense spend alot of money on this rather than the Lightphone phones.. the ui inconvenience and crashing browser is a nice touch i think… it lets me enough to use but not nice enough to be addictive

Y se queda de esa forma un móvil tipo Hisense A9 o un Bigme pero peor. No entiendo esto. Yo tengo un Hisense A9 y es fantástico, pero mi falta de control con el tiempo de uso hace que deba usar dumbphones con la opción de hotspot. Es por eso que he dejado mi hisense y he vuelto a usar un Doro. No tendría ningún sentido coger un móvil al que puedo instalar aplicaciones. Quizá el equilibrio más acertado lo tenga Sunbeam pero esos móviles no están en Europa.

TBH one of the worst things to use in a touchscreen phone is e-ink screen. Why don't use colored lcd screen of the same size of you want to give a basic android device.
