I had to do the entire procedure twice before it worked properly, I am sure I did something wrong and just didn't notice the first time. It works PERFECTLY now, than you so much for making the video. I looked at the instructions for an hour and could not get it to work, a few minutes with your video and I am up and running.

I hope ppl see my comment even though the video is old, first of all...this works. Now, the best way to keep the wench from rolling and or unrolling when you plug the battery in... Turn on the transmitter, hit the bottom 3rd channel button, this will put in a neutral position. Plug in the battery and it won't start rolling until you hit the 3rd channel button again.

Thanks for the detailed explanation! I got it working. Rc4wd is not plug and play at all, had to solder on an extra jst power lead for the control box. There's only a servo cable included so it would just get 5v from the receiver.

so i did this with mine and i guess the newer models dont work like this mine comes with the FOB to wirelessly control it. tired this so i dont have to have that fob with me EVERY time i wanna use the winch unless i missed something it i did it all exactly as you did. hummmmm update i have the wireless control unit this will work with the wired control unit! nvm lol good job buddy

I unhooked the wires from the steering and hooked them up to 3rd channel and then when I hook the power up the wheels go all the way to the right and want do nothing

Thank you!! I have same winch sitting on my bench because I could not get it working. They do not come with instructions. I did not get the little control box with mine but I have an extra channel and buttons on side of my radio. I'm going to try what you did here using channel 4. Thx again.

there is a even easier fix power on the controller hold the down button on the 3rd channel and turn the car on holding the button in it cuts the winch out instantly

Why is this video not first when searching up Warn Winch?? I love you bro no homo thanks for your hard work. Now to buy my winch. Quick question, the Tamiya plug that comes with the wcu is for hooking up a battery to use the remote, correct? There is no need to have that pluged or soldered to the esc, with it being hoked up to the 3rd channel is good enough right? Thanks

Buenas noches, definitivamente no puedo... por más que veo tu video no me funciona... todo está bien mientras tengo conectada la dirección al tercer canal, pero al apagar todo y conectar la dirección en su canal 1 y el winch al canal 3 el winch no hace nada. Lo he hecho mil veces y no hace nada... lo raro es que al probar la dirección en el canal tres si reacciona como en tu video, el problema, repito, es que al conectar el winch al canal3 ya no hace nada... que estaré haciendo mal?, estoy desesperado porque perdí mi control remoto del winch... tendré que resetear el módulo del winch? por favor ayudame. Hola Jimmyemz, gracias por comentar y perdon por la demora en responder. Espero que a estas alturas hayas logrado resolver el problema a fuerza de probar. De lo contrario, lamento decirte que, a juzgar por tu descripcion, probablemente tengas un daño en el modulo del winch. Sin embargo, es posible que reseteandolo se resuelva solo. El procedimiento seguramente lo estas haciendo bien, ya que con la direccion si te funciona. Alguna vez me ha pasado que, frustrado como estas en este momento, he dejado todo ahi por un par de semanas, luego pruebo y, voala, funciona a la primera. Cosas raras pasan a veces. Un saludo.

Hi Rafael, glad I can helped you. Same happens with mine, unfortunatelly I haven't found a way to solve that. What I do is, since I know it happens, I leave the winch a little loose, then turn on the transmitter and, as soon as I turn the car on, hurry to stop the winch from the transmitter. I know it's pain there, haha, but you will get used to that very fast. It becomes an automatic action after two times, haha. Thanks for the like and the subscription, I noticed you did it. Absolutely. I can't be more happy with mine. I even tought in change the body before it arrives, but once I had it, I realize how beautiful it is. Better than pics and vids. Besides, You'll no need almost any upgrade, maybe the winch and tires (althought original tires are fine too). I upgraded a few things mostly for aesthetics purposes. Thanks for the comment. Lo estas haciendo bien Luciano. Son 4 posiciones. Dos en los extremos y dos cerca de los extremos (casi en el centro, pero son dos posiciones diferentes, no la misma posicion). Seguro que vas a conseguirlo. Un saludo.

Hi Justin. If you have the same winch, the same control unit and the same transmitter as mine, there is no way it will not work just like mine by following my method. Either you have done something wrong in the process, or you have a defective part. Please try again with more attention and let me know any news. Do not skip any steps. Good luck this time.

Yes. Unfortunatelly it is possible that it doesn't work the same with a different transmitter. See min 0:32. I bought this model recently kzbin.info/www/bejne/iaHVqWiqj62jf9E but not tried it yet. hola amigo una duda.llo quiero poner mas adelante una defensa delantera tipo arb a mi rc4wd d90 y un winch pero el winch que pondre sera un integy con mando independiente pero conentan que este tipo de winch si conectas el cable de alimentacion directo al canal 3 y lo configuras este funciona desde la emi tactic esta misma de tu video lla que es la que tengo junto a su receptor 3ch en mi d90 y asi no hace falta el mando de 3 posiciones que biene con el winch.crees que funcionara? este winch no lleba ningun tipo de unidad de control independiente ni nada solo un cable para conectar al receptor y salida al mando
