"4.5/10 it was pretty good, i had an alright time" HE LOVES IT

Funnily enough, I actually sort of had the same thought process when it came to boss design after playing Rabi Ribi as well, in which I realized that making really difficult bosses might require just a little bit of unfairness to make a truly gratifying experience. Even though I didn’t have the same problems with bullet readability as Joe did, there were some attacks that are kinda unreasonable to avoid on your first go around (Cicini Laser Cage), but learning to deal with those attacks as they came again and again was a special type of satisfying, a satisfying that had me playing the game multiple times just to relish in it. The state that Joe was scared of reaching was what I personally embraced myself, and honestly, I have no regrets. All in all, I’m definitely of the opinion that Rabi Ribi is secretly one of the greatest metroidvanias of all time, and I’m glad that Joe and some of the chat members were able to see at least a little bit of the vision.

Readability is such a common problem in action games because games are so obsessed with theming. I just got finished with the story of Remnant 2 today and that game just loves to make you fight red and black enemies firing red projectiles against a red and black background. My fucking eyes hurt dude.

I am colorblind and while readability was not great I never thought that was a problem for the general population, I just figured it was just my colorblindness. That being said it also was not that bad, but I know how to read bullet hells better than Joe (I am assuming, and not by much). I did have trouble reading the screen in hollow knight despite it generally having a very clear distinction between attacks and backgrounds. I assume this is to do with the visual complexity of what's on the screen, since Rabi Ribi tends towards simpler backgrounds with less objects to focus on.

If you don’t count it as weeb rainbow vomit, Luna nights sounds exactly like what he might want out of this game

Whatever game he's playing looks AWFUL. I used to run in the kinds of circles that would be like "ohhh you should play this dumb anime game its so good!!!" and then 99% of the time the game is just awful and people love it solely because it's anime and they're conditioned to eat that shit up

but this is actually a good game, even if it had different style with all other aspects the same it still would’ve been amazing and loved by people

I fucking hate the artstyle of this game, but the gameplay is really well done. It's challenging, has lots of content and feels great to control.
