Actually, based on Opus numbers, it is estimated only about 1/4 of his works survived.

Look for Saint-George, not chevalier. Chevalier is just the French word for knight, his title as a musketeer.

Very nice. One thing... the documentary evidence would indicate that Saint-George was more of a mentor than a rival to Mozart. The surviving papers from Mozart's time in Paris include an unfinished ballet for Saint-George's opera L'Amant Anonyme, and Mozart quotes a Saint-George concerto in his Symphonie Concertante as an acknowledgement of his influence.

Bologne was hardly a mentor to Mozart this is revisionism is motion. Leopold, Haydn and the Bach(s) taught Mozart. Joseph Bologne is an average composer so there was nothing he could impart to Mozart.

@hortleberrycircusbround9678 Boulogne (spell it correctly) was the artistic director of one of the most influential orchestras in Europe when Mozart visited Paris. At that time, he was struggling and unknown and had not yet begun his association with Haydn in Vienna. Mozart's Paris papers show that he was collaborating on Saint-George's opera L'Amant Anonyme. This is exactly the type of thing a protégé would do with his mentor. Mozart also quoted Saint-George in his Symphonie Concertante. Again, this is something a protégé does to acknowledge his mentor, much as Schubert quoted Ode to Joy from Beethoven's 9th Sympony in his own Great C Major Symphony. Documentary evidence, even if recently recovered, is not revisionism, and your subjective judgment of Saint-George's supposed "mediocrity" is frankly irrelevant. Many musicologists consider Leopold to be mediocre as well.

I saw a few scenes and it was cringeworthy. It’s a damn shame. The actor didn’t seem like he did a lick of training or any real musicians were on hand to correct the acting out of the playing on the violin. In one scene he jumps forward like he’s in the middle of a rap battle. It’s an embarrassment to Chevalier.
