Parts of Marine Robin were used to make Thompson, but they should not be considered as the same ship

This is another excellent video, Connor Tenold! If this was a Liberty Ship, then a piece of Americn history gets scrapped with her. A Liberty Ship could be completed in 50 days. The were made off rolled steel which was thinner than the steel usually used in ship construction to this poine. They were also the first type of ship what was completely welded. No rivets were harmed in the production of thise ships. When steel ran short, they still made Liberty Ships. They just used concrete in the hull construction. No welding or riveting needed, there. Here's a couple of interesting facts. At the end of WW II, 3 out of every 4 ships left afloat were American made. Also, at the end of that war, the U.S. Navy consisted of around 9,000 ships including 101 aircraft carriers and was the largest, most powerful navy known to history.

It is sad to see her go, but at least a part of her will live on in the Joe Jr.
