There is no contradiction in the genealogy but they as usual fail to see what is important here , that God is the father of the man Jesus Christ .

Mathew gave the Biological genealogy by saying Joseph's Father is Jacob and Luke was using Heli been the Step Father to Joseph that is why in look he used Suppose Son but Mathew didn't. So what is the contradiction?

@@biblestudykyb if heli and Jacob were from david then that means both of them have the same line which means the line from either mark or like is wrong because two names can't be used for a single position in genealogy 😁🗿🍷💯

Muslim Response to Christian Interpretations of the Discrepancies in Jesus’ Genealogy: 1. Claiming Two Different Genealogies: - **Christian Interpretation:** Some Christians believe that the genealogies in Matthew and Luke reflect Jesus’ genealogy from two different perspectives: Matthew traces Jesus’ genealogy through Joseph (his adoptive father), while Luke traces it through Mary (his biological mother). - Muslim Response: - **The Apparent Contradiction:** Muslims believe that this interpretation does not resolve the problem of the discrepancy, but rather increases doubts about the accuracy of the Gospels. Both Matthew and Luke state that the genealogy directly reflects Jesus’ genealogy, and do not clearly indicate that there is a distinction between Joseph’s genealogy and Mary’s. If the intention was to present two different genealogies, this should have been clearly stated. - **Texts Refer to Joseph’s Genealogy:** In Matthew 1:16, it is said that Jacob begot Joseph, indicating that the genealogy directly follows Joseph’s genealogy, not Mary’s. - **Luke's Absence of Mary:** The genealogy in Luke 3:23-38 begins with Joseph, not Mary, which weakens the claim that this lineage traces Mary's lineage. **Evidence:** - Matthew 1:16: "And Jacob begot Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ." - Luke 3:23: "Now Jesus was about thirty years of age, and was the son of Joseph, (as was supposed) the son of Heli..." 2. Claims of differences in Jewish heritage: - **Christian interpretation:** Some Christians believe that the difference in genealogy is due to ancient Jewish traditions, such as levirate marriage, where a person could have two genealogies. - Muslim response: - **Lack of clarity in the texts:** Muslims point out that the Gospels do not mention levirate marriage or any other Jewish traditions to justify the existence of two genealogies. If this were the case, this should have been made clear in the texts directly. - **Inconsistency in genealogy:** Even if the levirate marriage was justified, there is still a significant difference between the names mentioned in Matthew and Luke, making this interpretation difficult to accept. **Evidence:** - No mention of any Jewish tradition such as levirate marriage in the texts. - The clear difference between the names in Matthew 1:6-16 and Luke 3:23-31. 4. Adoption Claim: - **Christian Interpretation:** Some Christians say that Jesus was considered the adopted son of Joseph, and therefore could be attributed to Joseph or Mary according to the text. - Muslim Response: - **The difference in lineage still exists:** Even if Jesus was the adopted son of Joseph, this does not explain why there are two different genealogies. In Matthew and Luke, we find completely different names for Jesus’ ancestors, which reinforces the idea that there is a contradiction. - **No mention of adoption:** The texts do not clearly state that Jesus was an adopted son, nor do they indicate the distinction between legal and biological lineage. **Evidence:** - Differences in lineage between Matthew and Luke, as there is no explanation for adoption. Why Muslims consider this a contradiction: - **Contradictions as evidence of distortion:** Muslims see these contradictions as proof that the Gospels have been distorted. According to Islam, the previous heavenly books, including the Torah and the Gospel, were revealed by God, but were distorted over time by humans. The contradictions in the genealogies between Matthew and Luke are tangible evidence of this distortion. - **Qur'anic Confirmation:** The Qur'an confirms that the previous heavenly books were distorted, and presents itself as the last heavenly book preserved from distortion. In Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 79, Allah says: "So woe to those who write the Scripture with their own hands and then say, 'This is from Allah,' in order to exchange it for a small price. So woe to them for what their own hands have written, and woe to them for what they earn." Islamic Sources: - **Qur'anic Confirmation:** Surah Al-Baqarah 2:79, Surah Al-Hijr 15:9. - **Books of interpretation:** such as Tafsir al-Tabari, which deals with the subject of distortion and explains the verses of the Qur’an related to it. - **Books of Hadith:** such as Sahih al-Bukhari, which mentions what the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said about the previous heavenly books and distortion.

@@Verge63 No, God sent down the Gospel and the Torah so that they would be guidance for people and a call for them to worship God and follow His commands. That is, the Bible and the Torah were just books for God to call people to worship Him, and they are not the main books, and God knows that people will distort them, so He sent down the Qur’an to tell us what happened and how. Because the Qur’an is the final and main book of God, and it is what God promised, as God swore that He would protect the Qur’an from distortion, unlike the Bible and the Torah. The Qur’an contains the messages that were in the Bible and the Torah before they were distorted. That is, the Qur’an came to confirm God’s message before it was distorted and to complete it, that is, to complete God’s words in the Qur’an, and the Qur’an is the complement to the Gospel and the Torah, and it is the correct book. The Qur’an is the word of God and does not contain any errors or contradictions, unlike what is in the Bible and the Torah, because they have been distorted.
