You leave hours at a time to "bushwhack". ..while school season starts and the submissive wife takes over..so you can explore yourself. Yep, you took a week or 8_9 days vacation with the so called family, but time was put in and family can stand by.....what a joke __who do you think you are really kidding? People who watch your vids have REAL jobs, and not narcissistic videos to make money. ...though for you it pays for your tattoos, eh?

It's not a *real* Robinet solo video if there isn't an airplane droning in the background somewhere at some point. ;-) More of this. It's good to see you get back to the simple stuff. I know that's kinda difficult, especially heading towards the deep end of Fall, but this was a throw back to your earlier stuff and a lot more relaxed and enjoyable. Only thing missing was Scout, but that'd probably make for an interesting paddle in ;-)

My name is Gavin young, I am a 16 year old newfound bushcraft enthusiast from the United States. After months and months of research and searching I narrowed the perfect pack down to the one and only helags 40L pack. However to my misfortune, I have just found out this line was discontinued. After weeks of watching videos, reading reviews and even going through Facebook pages, and forums of people that want this pack, I finnaly decided to reach out too you. This pack is truly one of a kind and in my opinion is the best pack of them all. Your videos were what inspired me to begin bushcraft In the first place. I have been borrowing my dads old army packs but I would love to have one for my own so I can go out and do all the things I see you don please help me joe!! Thank you again for your time. I personally just enjoy you having fun out there, cooking steaks, every single segment of the process I will watch! Kelisha Donnu life is all about mindset. You would enjoy camping if you didn't have preconceived notions about it. I'm a young girl too. Bugs can be a problem, but everything else about it is wonderful. Get away from the internet once in awhile, and live life the way we were supposed to. You will thoroughly enjoy it if you put your mind to it. Open your mind don't close it. There is so much more to life than the internet. Your comment only shows that you have a negative outlook on camping/outdoors. Put the effort in to not be negative and grow up a little. You will thank me later

Thanks Joe for sharing all of your experience freely. I am 70 years young and am inspired. Doubt I will ever go out in the big woods alone but my little cabin is in a wooded area on a small lake shore. I am going to build a lean to near my house, make a fire pit, and practice "bush craft" just to learn new skills. I have always been an "outdoor girl" so this should be fun. Have bug out bags packed but camping includes a bit more stuff. A big tent for all 5 dogs... LOL Thanks for who you are and what you do.

Hey Joe, open the steak package right after you buy it, put the seasoning on it, wrap it back up. By the time you cook it, it will have dry brined for many hours. It will make it much tastier!

Oh, and "doin the dishes" is from actually one of my favorite solo videos of yours bro. Winter camp, long-ish fire set up, one section to the left for cookin and the majority of the length to warm your lean-to. Dunno why, that looked like an awesome trip. one of my favorite videos man, easy dishes too ha. Steak as well if I recall

I really love the way you enjoy nature and use the resources to build yourself a camp. You give a lot of inspiration to all those who want to do this, but are a little bit afraid of doing it. I respect you and maaa boi scout for all the great work you do for entertaining us and for teaching us all the details. Keep the good work up! Skål from Sweden

Joe, I'm not sure if your butcher shops carry it, but for bringing meat that does not need refrigeration (or Geiger counters) beef biltung is a great option. It's an air dried brisket, and you cut off what you need. More tender than jerkey, it rehydrated very well if you make a soup or stew, and strips can be cooked like bacon, or just cut off a bite as a snack. I believe it is originally a traditional way to cure and preserve meat in Africa. Something to keep an eye out for, or ask the butcher next time you are at a meat emporium.

Biltong, and it's South African. We usually make our own but it's time consuming and it can also be done with sausage, called "droewors".

RK7 , here too, but there are some pretty basic butcher shops that are not going to have this sort of thing, and then there are amazing butcher shops that have stuff you may never have even heard of; hence "Meat Emporium". It's just a bit of fun. Like some liquor stores (L.C.B.O. = Liquor Control Board of Ontario, though I prefer Legendary Canadian Booze Outfitters) in Ontario Canada can be pretty sparse, where as others are exceptional.

Guys, if you live in a hot dry environment, you can make it yourself. We used silverside steak, you spice it for a couple days in basic spices and vinegar, this draws the water out the meat, then you slice it and hang it somewhere clean with a fan blowing on it until it dry, we usually prefer it to still be a little soft and "raw" in the center. If you live in a humid environment, you can buy or make your own drying boxes.
