@Love My Doggy Yes Fluoride can help ONLY using it topically on the teeth, just don't over do it. The main way Fluoride is effective is it's highly toxic to bacteria that damage teeth with acids. It also works by donating electrons, BUT getting excessive fluoride in your blood deactivates enzymes involved in bone synthesis. So too much will actually encourage decay and inhibit new bone formation in the pulp tissue. However if one is toxic in fluoride it may stop new bone formation, but will still keep bacteria in check so some may still see a positive results as it's related to the teeth even though they have stopped proliferating. The big issue with fluoride toxicity is compact bone elsewhere in the body and developing diseases such as osteopenia or osteoporosis. It's best to use a fluoride-free toothpaste/power and a separate high fluoride mouthwash rinse so one can control exactly how much fluoride you're using and when, because brushing the teeth happens too often and one more than likely will absorb too much fluoride: www.etsy.com/listing/1195891113/eucellus-enamel-enriching-remineralizing?click_key=10b4976b61609a8ab318ada9250789de4b27a41a%3A1195891113&click_sum=d3bad7d3&ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=toothpowder&ref=sr_gallery-1-1&organic_search_click=1&frs=1

Our dentist joked and said he always leaves a little decay behind as it’s his down payment on his sons (private) education... very tactless of him but he has been a good dentist in spite of it for my son who had his teeth and jaw butchered when younger by a state hospital dental surgery when I was a student. They pulled 8 teeth in one go , no follow up care, lots of issues with teeth since. He had an accident with a garden seesaw and it hit him in the mouth cracking some teeth. These should be standard procedures .. some older folks lungs expand after they are fitted cracking teeth too.

So true!!! I’m in braces with impacted canines. 3 dental cleanings ago I had a dentist tell me that I was losing bone around one of my canines and that there was a chance I’d need a support, lose the tooth or need an implant. This dentist made it seem severe so I had the X-rays sent right over to my orthodontist and after that my orthodontist didn’t do any adjustments for months and months and just let the tooth fall on it’s own. This really put me behind in my treatment and the reason I’m in braces for almost 5 years 😫 I think he was afraid that moving the canine was causing bones loss and I don’t blame him. Fast forward to my most recent X-ray and this new dentist tells me that he sees nothing concerning. I was confused so I told my orthodontist and he said “that’s because the bone grew back”. So yes, bone can grow back because it happened to me. The body is amazing in what it can do. 🙏🏼

I am getting LANAP done tomorrow, December 17, 2020. I have hardly any plaque, but the gum disease is deep where I can't brush. It has progressed to where some of the charting numbers are now sevens, even though I brush several times a day and floss every day. I haven't missed a day of brushing or flossing for years. I have sensitivity which I thought was because of cavities, but on x-ray, there are none. You can really see the bone loss on the x-rays, up to 70% bone loss in some areas. I also have a gap between my front teeth which is getting wider. Originally, I was going to get root planing, but backed out of that because I didn't want to go through the pain and long process of many visits to treat different areas. I can let you viewers know how LANAP went if you are interested.

After the freezing wore off, there was quite a lot of throbbing pain, so I took pain medication. I took a total of 3 pills but slept well. Today, there is no pain, just tenderness. My gums look like Dracula's, but that's normal. I have to be on a liquid diet for three days, followed by a mushy diet for three days and then a soft diet to allow the gums to heal. I have to take antibiotics for 10 days and use Peridex mouthwash twice a day. I have to go back to get my mouth guards which will stabilize the teeth as they heal.

Hi doctor, writing from india. 21 years old, I have been to dentist for my treatment, after analysis, Dentist told me I have periodontitis what a 35 years old would have. He did scaling bunch of times on a week interval. I have got good result in my incisors and canine but not for the m and pm. He straight away suggested me to go for flap surgery considering my already worsen case. Question: does the disease get transfer from infected to healthy gums ? Thank you for all the breathtaking information you post. Will be in debt for ever. Just gonna have my surgery after a bit of time.

I had osteomyelitis in my jaw. I was knocking on the gone door. The spongy bone did regenerate but I still lost all of my bottom teeth. The inside of my mouth is awful. I still have a hard time wearing a special made denture. I have been blessed to have excellent care. This was not the outcome any of us wanted, but considering everything, it could have been worse. I get to see my Son get married and hopefully aFather before my time is done.

Taking Ionic Boron improved my teeth, gums and jaw bone rather quickly. 30 years ago I had surgery and cadaver bone grafts-- upper and lower-- to save my teeth. At age 64 I began supplementing with Ionic Boron and I experienced dramatic improvement. Chemicals applied to farm soil blocks the uptake if this important mineral into plant foods, so Americans tend to more deficient than people from many other nations. Pills don't work as well as the Ionic (liquid) form-- just 1/2 tsp daily added to water. After awhile you can take a second dose later in the day. Avoid taking too much or you will feel awful. It also aids in remineralizing cartilage in joints and reversing bone loss throughout the body. And it costs very little. I wish my many dentists had told me about this, but their ignorance of mineral nutrition is shocking.

@@mdk2901 www.healthyhabits.com/product-info.php?name=ionicboron Use coupon code LQVM7Y for a big discount. Each bottle is 96 servings, at least to start, then you can begin to take more than one dose daily. Since over 75% of Americans are deficient, we should supplement forever. Tooth decay is also a boron deficiency cause for many-- not toxic fluoride! Good luck.

Hello Dr. Nemeth - thank you for sharing this interesting information. Is there any evidence that this procedure can be effective over multiple years for more "horizontal" bone loss cases? The examples you showed seemed to be more focused on single-tooth use cases. I was wondering if there was any hope for people who may have experienced some bone loss and gum recession due to bruxism that went untreated for a period of time.

Just had 4 bottom teeth removed because of loose teeth bone loss. I consulted 4 dentists about the issue of saving the teeth. Not one mentioned lanap procedure. They took out four for a possible bridge implant combo procedure in 10 months. Now I hide from people because of missing teeth. My teeth became loose because of bad orthodontics. I feel as though I am a costly experiment for the periodontist.

I was just diagnosed with that very issue on 5/20/2021 by an Endodontist. He has reported back to my Dentist that they should pull the tooth. The tooth is exactly what you described in your first example. The tooth is the front tooth of a bridge, lower jaw and if they pull it, I will have a two tooth gap because I cannot afford an implant. Is this an affordable solution or am I just screwed? I live in the Phoenix AZ area. Is this a dental procedure that's offered here as well? Thanks Doc for sharing this information and I hope to hear from you.
