Hi. Very nice video. I agree with others that your voice is soothing. I'm a Sisterlocks Consultant (since 2002). I want to correct a couple of things you said. (1) The pricing for Sisterlocks is not about the grid. It's about the length of the hair and how extremely time consuming it is to install/establish Sisterlocks. Plus the price is suppose to include the consultation, installation, starter kit and followup full retightening session. Unfortunately, too many so-called consultants are not adhereing to this protocol. They are cheating their clients out of the full experience. Also some consultants will charge more for thick hair because high density adds to the time of installation. I personally don't believe in that practice, especially if the consultant is not willing to charge less for thin low density hair. (2) When a client first get Sisterlocks they are on a every 4 week schedule in order to stay on top of and ahead of potential unraveling, bunching, slippage and other problems, which may occur. Once the locks settle then the client is given a schedule based on the rate their hair grows. When I wore Sisterlocks, for 11 years, I had to have my locks retightened every 4 weeks. However, I have clients who come in for retightenings anywhere from 4 - 9 weeks. There are some clients who will push the envelope and stretch out their maintenance schedule to save money. For some of my clients who do that it shows in their locks, with them not being as strong as they could be if the client would stick to the proper maintenance schedule for their hair growth. I hope this information sheds a little extra light on the topic of your video.

Sisterlocs and microlocs are the SAME. Only difference is SISTERlocs are done by people who specialize in SISTERlocs but if you want the SAME look you can do microlocs or have someone do it for you.. cause you can both have the size, amount etc but one will be called micro and one sister. So I guess diy is micro. Some people with microlocs feel a way when they're called SISTERlocs because of the grid. I mean, the grid ain't special. Interlocking is a TECHNIQUE like retwising and crocheting.

Sisterlocks and microlocs are certainly not the SAME. However, I do believe that once they’re both mature and out of the “baby” and “teenage” stage, they’ll start to look more so the same. However they are not the same because microlocs can be started with a variety of methods (braids, twists, interlocks etc) while there is only ONE method of starting sisterlocks and of course the grid pattern is specific.

@@t.1103 yeah and sisterlocks are also smaller than microlocs
@Mimiscellaneous3 жыл бұрын
@@laiahfats3869 not necessarily. You can get microlocks just as small as sisterlocks. Sisterlocks is really just a brand and grid pattern.

I have traditional locs but they were started by the interlock method and when I get them retightened they are interlocked. I didn't know interlocks was a thing, I just call mine locs. It's all confusing these days..lol This is a very informative video.

I’ve had sisterlocks for a little over 2 years now. (Can’t tell from my profile picture 😂) The sisterlocks consultation fee is supposed to be included in the cost of your install as is the cost of the first retightening.

I find interlocs confusing as well. I found a loctitian who tags her post sisterlocks but she's not on the sisterlock website so technically she's doing interlocs because people can choose what size they want 🤔 She sure does charge sisterlock prices! To each their own, they all look good to me.

Beautiful commentary on SL / ML😊 But please be careful out here when it comes to your SL , everyone is not out here for your good on your hair periodT. I let a girl In Hayward CA, name Kristin do my Sisterlock install- 🤦🏽♀️ she was awful to say the least and very unprofessional. I went to her for a couple of more months, but my gut told me to stop going to her. She did not know what she was doing. She did not do the Sisterlocs grid- she messed up my hair- and had the nerve to get upset because I stopped tipping her. In the meantime I was looking for a new sister Loctician ….and I actually reported her to Sisterlock foundation . I have a new lady now , in San Leandro California. She is amazing ! Some of these folks out here do not want to take care of your hair. They only want the money. And her attitude was definitely from the devil.. If you feel it in your gut, please do your research. Do not go to the first person you see! This is my second set of Sisterlocks. Soon I will be doing a channel myself regarding my Sisterlock journey. 😉 be safe out here folks when it comes to your hair!

I just intalled braid locs. They are not micros.. I am going for small traditional locs, however we will see how it eventually turns out. To say the least I love how they look so far. I braided a little more than half the length of my hair ( I have long hair) and left the ends out and curly.
