Guys like Kirk Cousins, Geno Smith, Jordan Love, Mac Jones, Daniel Jones, etc would probably play just as well. There’s a certain conviction that successful QBs have so I wouldn’t necessarily consider Jimmy G or Trey Lance good benchmarks. Not to mention the offense took off with the addition of Christian McCaffery not Brock Purdy.

I think the best thing to happen to Allen might have been humiliating himself Week One. Allen *can* be one of the best if he can play disciplined. Teams are taking away the long ball and daring him to nickel-and-dime his way down the field. He couldn't do it. But after single-handedly...literally...blowing that first game he seems (knock on wood) to *finally* have seen the light and has been playing smart. He's careful about when he runs and...this shocked me...*slid* last week! He's also playing the short game, taking what he was given. If he can actually keep this up and not get trigger-happy again as he has so often in the past he will be an absolute menace.

This is one time when I would focus on who Mahomes is throwing to as compared to Tua. The weapons were a consistent and constant knock against Mahomes for years, and the disparity in weapons is extremely apparent now.

The two are also pretty much even in PFF grade (92.2 for Tua and 90.0 for Mahomes) and one gets fewer opportunities to make deeper throws. Tua's aDOT is 9.6 yards compared to Mahomes' 7.9. Not to mention the wide receivers for 2 games (Kelce was a non-factor in Week 2).

Every single person who knows anything about football would still choose Mahomes as their QB and thats why he's on top and will stay on top of the mountain until someone might beat him in the playoffs this year. Anyone would replace their current QB with Mahomes. Take Mahomes and put him on the Dolphins offense and you'd have a better team
