Palmer lead the league that year (.323) and finished 2nd in MVP voting, splitting the 2 remaining votes with Brady. Hurts is having himself a Cam like season, except the Eagles didn't have a historically soft schedule like the 2015 Panthers did. His stats aren't great but he clutches out wins for a 10-1 team and he's my favorite for MVP. But coming back to adj. epa/play and looking at the top 4 tiers of QBs - 1. Purdy (.352), 2. Dak (.269), 3. Allen (.232), 4. Mahomes (.211), 5. Tua (.203), 7. Hurts (.172), 8. Stroud (.170), 9. The Prince (.135), 10. Herbert (.133), 11. Goff (.130), ... 13. Russ (.102), ... 16. Lamar (.096), 17. Stafford (.090), ... 29. Kyler (-0.68). If Hurts falls off in his final games where voters start side-eyeing his stats instead of being sold on "QB Winz", then it's gotta be either Purdy or a non-QB winning MVP.

Josh Allen just went up against, arguably the best team in the league, in their house, as a one man show and was one wrong corner route by Gabe Davis away from beating them. The defense was non-existent in the 2nd half and Josh still got them all they needed to win but the Eagles make an outrageous 59 yard field goal, McDermott refuses to go down the field with 20 seconds left after burning a timeout for no reason himself, and Gabe Davis runs a corner route after being wide open for a fly route with Diggs running the flat in the slot confusing the Eagles secondary. He is far better than Tua, Trevor and Dak. And in that game, he was the best player on the field going up against Jalen Hurts so that’s a discussion. The Eagles were better in every area of the game. Receivers, running game, o-line, d-line. Secondary is arguable. And yet Josh Allen had the lead and should have won that game if not for his coach’s and receivers huge mistakes.

I'd say Hurts, Lamar, Purdy, Stroud, Mahomes, and Dak (maybe) are probably all in the top 6 mix of QB's...then Lawrence, Tua, Russell Wilson, and Allen should be row 4. AFC still has the better cumulative QB's, but that seems to be the case the past couple of years...
